According to? I wouldn't put anything past the club, so I'm not saying anyone is wrong. You pay more for young players as a rule, so just because they cost similar amounts it's no reason to think the wages of Smith and Enrique would have been at or even near parity.
-
Yeh 2 weeks or about £100k* * - Says the Sun. Speculation on two fronts - regarding the fine and Enrique's salary. Apparently we paid a 21 year old Spaniard with less than 40 games of first team experience £50,000 a week in 2007.

Newcastle owner Mike Ashley shelves plans for statue of Alan Shearer

I've ignored this mong, now is there anyway to have his threads not show up? -
What's to say that NUFC missed out on 5M worth of revenue because they paid to put up the Sports Direct ads? Surely some revenue, but not 5M. ...and what's the bet that Ashley will sell his shares in Sports Direct before too long. Use the free ads to help with turnover driving up the share prices to their peak before cashing out. Then he can start charging for the ads on the stadium, or use SD as a case profile for the effect of stadium advertising to other potential clients. Wildly speculating is fun, isn't it.

Wonder what Gosling's preferred position is. Used like a jack of all trades by Everton. We'll be needing someone to cover for Tiote's suspensions - hopefully Smith is not an option. The only area that he can match it with Cheick is in obtaining cards.

What about Bore Hole - Carroll's replacement - he cost £35m! Can't wait to see him play. Carroll's departure left us with more than one big hole. Fittingly after ripping his name off my shirt I had a hole on that too.

Newcastle v Arsenal Sat 13th August Kick Off 5.30pm

Can't wait. Good to be at home for the first match of the season. -
Pretty ordinary questions for poor old Shola. Best's hat looked worse.
-
But what about the statement speaks that the services were advice and/or direction? Again, this is my personal interpretation of the statement, but isn't it much more likely that the services were the hosting and hoisting of the Sports Direct signage at St James' Park?
-
The club received no money from SD in 2008 & 2009, in fact we paid the costs for the privilege. If that wasn't happening to us it would be comical. I think you've both misunderstood the statement (I'm also pretty sure that SD branding at SJP arrived in 2010?). Anyway, that fee is for services promoting Newcastle, not SD. A statement on SD's promotions isnt relevant to our accounts. Its basically saying that we got assistance in selecting e.g. promotional channels and refining brand messages for NUFC from the enormously powerful and successful marketing department at SD. It does NOT mean we paid SD £42k to advertised SD at SJP. Genuinely what makes you say that? Is there something other than this slightly ambiguous statement that goes into further detail? The way I read it as a piece of evidence unto its own it says that services were provided [by the club] to other companies associated with Mike Ashley. These services involved no payment [to the club from other companies] and no payment was made [by the club to the other companies] for theses services. The cost to the club of rpvoding these services was £42,250.

Definitely not, but it sounds like it was a marked improvement from our other US games. As well it should have been with a pretty strong side out. Wonder what sort of team we'll see against Leeds. I'm guessing the player of note who were sat out from the last reserve fixture plus Joey Barton will come into the side, with a few of those from the Columbus game rested completely or at least on the bench.
-
Vuckic talks goals, then scores goal. A special goal apparently. lee_ryder That is a fantasticc goal from Vuckic, he bobbed and weaved before curling a superb shot into what US fans called the upper 90 lee_ryder You won't see many better than that this season.

His enthusiasm is great, I'll give him that. Class photo as well.
-
Going to be a big pain again this season. We're a different side with him in the team, he takes a lot of pressure off the defense.
-
He is a 'Georgie' himself!
-
Goaloccini!
-
To be fair he does quite well to talk so much on his own, and has obviously researched the club quite a bit.
-
It's like it's a different game. A lot of talking but so hard to follow what's happening.

Stuffed up back pass from a midfielder. Shola picked it up and gracefully stroked it past a stranded and highly annoyed keeper. I'd imagine it was something like that anyway. FTR Andy Carroll had a very successful time at Newcastle, but not 'Alan Shearer successful'.
-
On the back of his scintillating form Newcastle United are pleased to announce that Shola Ameobi has been rewarded with a contract extension. "When I seen Shola score that goal against Columbus I known that we had a great goal scorer on our hands, just what we'd been looking for. It's fantastic to be able to reveal that we has given Shola the famous number 9, and we trust that he will provide the goals and excitement that the supporters deserve" - Pardew
-
Converted the unforced error into a winner with a powerful stroke from the backcourt.
-
Shola! 1-0
-
Let's hope we get the shutout here guys, if we can hold on until they bring their close out pitcher on we should we in with a chance - provided their special team does a poor job on the kick returns of course.

Is this guy intentionally trying to be annoying?
