He's looking at some kid from LA he saw kicking a ball around the park. Santiago Muñez I think he's called. Not sure if he's any good, like. Bet the little shit is just looking at us as a step ladder to a Champions League side...
-
Absolutely no chance on the Pavlyuchenko front. He's 30 in 4 months, and Spurs won't let him go on the cheap considering they splurged 14M on him. Good player though.
-
Not at all surprising the way the value of our targeted strikers has plummeted. From the 9ish million of Gervinho to the 6ish million of Erdinc and now the 3ish million of this guy.

Tiote not playing vs Arsenal + doubtful for derby

He has very quick feet, we definitely lack that. The biggest worry is that for a wide player it's a struggle to find footage of him crossing a ball. If 3M is the price it looks like a good deal. Just because he's down the pecking order and seen as surplus to requirements at Manure doesn't mean that he's no good - why would Ferguson have played him so much in their US tour? - from the YouTube footage of those games it looked like he played well, scoring a goal and setting up a couple. As a replacement for Routledge it's a clear improvement, as a replacement for Barton they're very different players. Mentality could be this kids problem as well...

This should have been the opening post in this thread.
-
Having just done a little bit of Dennis Wise scouting on him, he seems very similar to Jonas. Right footed player who likes to play down the left, takes on players on the dribble sometimes to the detriment of position and only crosses as a final option.

Reserving judgement until I see more of him. I just hope this doesn't mean someone else will be sold. Opportunistic signing over one in the places where we most need cover though.
-
1-2 in probably means we'll sell 1 or 2, loan out 1 or 2 and buy 1 if we're lucky.
-
I hear that Shefki Kuqi is available...
-
Right on both counts I'm afraid. Also worried about the mettle of the side when things inevitably aren't going well and there's a few injuries to key personel along with the inevitable suspensions Tiote will pick up.
-
Don't worry lads Demba will score 30 goals and cover for both Nolan and Carroll.
-
GUILTY!! Another watertight case from Columbo RIP Peter Falk
-
All this fantastic publicity will do wonders for all of the potential targets that we'll be hoping to land. They'll be queuing up to join, negotiating their wages downwards trying to increase their chances of being signed.
-
Does it matter either way?
-
Was lovely out on Tuesday as well, playing some lunch time football. Somehow managed to pick up a cold off some bastard, now my head is blocked up something chronic.
-
I'm hearing some very late mail that we'll be making a fantastic offer to Evra minutes before the window closes. They would have got it in earlier you see but they were doing their best to land Erding, and Tiote was using the chopper.

Sometimes it really really sucks to be right.
-
No matter how justified he is in his decision to leave I'll still be pissed watching him play for Liverpool. I think I'd rather him have gone anywhere else to be honest. Now we get to sit and wait like helpless idiots to see whether we're lucky enough to have him replaced by a cheaper inferior player on lower wages, or whether we'll have to settle for the Chronicle and .co.uk bigging up some square peg round hole 'alternatives' that we already have in our squad.
-
Whoops.. was supposed to be Carroll and Suarez. Not sure where the heck I pulled Aguero from.
-
It all hinges on Gerrard returning to be a decent player I reckon. Up front Aguero and Suarez will be a handful (or handball in the case of Suarez) for any defense. Enrique will make a massive difference to their defense who are weak and/or slow currently. The way Downing integrates into the side will be another key factor.
-
Gerrin! They're balancing the fuck out of those books this week. It's glorious stuff. Tiote will be the only one of our top 5 players from last season left, and then it's clear that they're just sitting on him waiting for the best time to cash in. Someone should have told them you're supposed to keep your best players and replace the weaker ones.
-
No real difference between the stuff on .co.uk and in the chronicle. Sad really.
-
He's been on the windup for the 40 or 50 years he's been here, you'd think over that period of time he'd have shown some loyalty.

There's a fair chance they wrote £35M on a ping pong ball popped it under one of several plastic cups moved them around then voila all the money has been spent!
