Pretty depressing watch by the end. Even though it's inevitable it doesn't make it any easier to watch. Oh and Ant (I think) how can you leave Back to the Future 3 out of your watching? In the context of the trilogy it holds up pretty well, not the strongest obviously but doesn't take away from the other two. Still have to get around to watching them on Blu. Of my recent watches Drive was so so enjoyable to watch. Loved it. Saw Tintin the other day in 3D. Good fun flick and the 3D wasn't gimmicky which always helps. The new Conan is pretty bad, but knowing that it would be that way I still found a way to make it enjoyable. Big fan of the 80s Arnie version, though I now know that it wasn't at all faithful to the character. Don't care though. Tossing up now whether I should watch the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo Swedish version, having just read the book, or whether I should wait and see the English version when it opens shortly. The fact that it's a Fincher film is what is making the choice so tough. Deep down I think I'll enjoy whichever of them I see first more than the other. Enjoying some time off over Christmas.

Their central defenders played well, in fact their defense in total was very good. Johnson back in form and Enrique of course solid as a rock. For us Obertan was back to his worst. Cabaye and Tiote also had poor games often giving the ball away with no pressure on them. Vuckic starting obviously didn't work, sadly he looks to be extremely slow to get moving. Ba's almost goal was class, as was the clearance off the line. They clearly deserved to win, we created bugger all. -
Suarez is a creative striker that creates and gets on the end of lots of chances, just doesn't score very often.... plus he's a cheat and a proven racist - also looks like a gargoyle. Enrique's a defender that defends resolutely, is fast, is strong, likes to get forward and has the fitness and speed to get back comfortably. He's also a good bloke who thinks there is to many snow in Birmigan!!!!!!!! No contest.

January Transfer window 2012- Deadline Day Madness
OTF replied to Lake Bells tits's topic in Newcastle Forum
No striker is the finally step in their all too familiar routine of slowly downsizing their promises. Starts with an all of the money will be invested in the squad and apparently ends with an unfortunately he failed his medical. In the meantime the passing of time has lessened the ire and anger of many supporters. Anyone who has been paying attention and isn't delusional won't really be surprised by this news. -
To those acting as though the loss to Norwich was inevitable, give it a break. Our central defensive pairing could literally not have been worse IMO. Not only are neither of them central defenders, but they're both short and lightweight. An opposing stikers wet dream. So suggest that we don't have any actual central defenders in the whole club is embarrassing. Bringing a player up from the youth or reserve side who is a natural central defender would have been a far more sound option. Kadar has had injury problems, but has played a few games in the reserves so is relatively match fit. We know he is better than Perch and we know that he offers a much greater physical presence than Simpson (who's set piece marking was embarrassing). That game was immensely winnable - a relatively well organized reserve defensive unit would not have conceded four weak goals like that - Ba's two goals should have been enough to take all three points. Now, I think on the whole Pardew has exceeded my expectations. He seems to be quite a good man manager, but does some inexplicable things - like continuing to play Perch, and perhaps giving Obertan too much of a chance to settle. It was disappointing to only take a single point from those three games because it made it feel like some of our earlier results have gone to waste. On the whole though if I was offered this many points and this position on the table at the start of the season I would have taken it in a heartbeat.

Do you have a link to those stats? Keen to see them. I think, with the exception of Obertan, we have a midfield that can keep possession well. Especially when playing in front of Colo, and I think Santon will only help on that front. -
Yeah, saw that when I turned the telly on. It was 1-1 at the time making it look even more dodgy! Doesn't matter though, missed it completely anyway - just like the Newcastle resuylt as well (thankfully). Didn't realise just how shite Bolton are.
-
Two goals from wing play not enough for you? I know you're a perfect balance of naivity, piss-taking and attention seeking, but I couldn't help myself.
-
Williamson second most on the ground covered. Impressive return from him, perfect game to come back really. Hasn't convinced me yet but so infinitely better than Perch there's a goal or two saved a game.
-
Shola's touches in this game... man.... 3 points and hopefully some confidence for our defense, who weren't really tested.
-
Impact knock thankfully..... from the look of it.
-
Why the fuck would you bring Perch on? Seeing him ready to come on has removed some enjoyment from this win.
-
Second in the league this season, third overall. PL say its his 3rd in the league. Stoke and WBA previously. My bad, underselling his goal creating brilliance
-
Playing shite the racist gargoyle head. His attempt at a volley in the first half was laughable.
-
Cahill made to look a mug all game by Ba. Obviously under his skin. Gave him a black eye as well... Haha.
-
Second in the league this season, third overall. This is more like it.
-
Yes... Strikers goal from Ba. Another Obertan assist..

...and yet that was fucking beautiful. From the first touch on the interception, to Jonas's lovely slide pass, Taylor's cross and the lovely finish from Ben Arfa. Best would have found a way to be offside.
