I'd say they're starved for chances at the top levels which makes it very tough for them to develop fully. Big clubs buy them young and if they're not exceptionally talented at a very young age they're stuck in youth or reserve sides and eventually bugger off to a lower placed team a ruined prospect.

I don't know about you but I find it much easier to support likable players. Of course it has little effect on their ability I never said it did. The Australian cricket team is case in point, stopped caring about their results because they were largely a bunch of pricks. I think the rest of the country felt the same as despite very good results general interest and support for cricket has been in recline. Could be that it's a dull sport as well. That said cuntish pricks often think they know better so trying to manage a team full of them would be a challenge. Ronaldo is undeniably a mega cunt so far up his own arse that he's come out twice but he's good enough to get away with it.

Agree on the cricket team front 100% Unlikeable bunch of dicks. Not qualified to comment on the rugby side. Seriously though how many detestable players can you have in a single side? Gerrard, Rooney, Hart, Terry, Cole, Young all A-Grade Cunts. Johnson not trailing by much. Carroll's a prick, we know that first hand. Milner's likable but even he has developed a bit of a strop at Manchester City. Parker as you rightfully point out is ridiculously overrated considering he just pivots on the ball until he can find an at best sideways pass to make. He does have an arrogant look about him as well and no doubt all the media smoke blown up his arse the last 3 years hasn't helped on that front.

Acting a cocky cunt makes you look like an English national player. Who's not an arrogant prick in the starting team? Lescott?

Seems they bring in foreign players to fill specific roles and potentially because of that those areas of the team aren't 'run' by English players. Looks at where the key players in the midfield of the league winning sides comes from - most of them form the attacking spark of the team. It's good for the overall spectacle, but has definitely hurt the development of an English style of football. That said this was a very weak squad right through the team. A defense that's not particualrly good at distributing the ball, a midfield that has no cohesion or creativity, embarrassing diving wingers, a cranky red head is your best (and dirtiest player) player yet he's retired to be replaced with a cranky balding red head. It's a tough ask for any manager.

Didn't watch the match but the statistics are embarrassing.
  7. Keeps his head down (when on the ball) and works hard (to get in the managers favour) - Scored goals though (for us). Someone desperately needs to teach him the offside rule.
  8. Article doesn't even mention Cisse.
  9. Sans spikes it would be quite lovely, but even with them it's better than last years effort. The real question that needs to be answered is; Why spikes? There's no logical reason for them. Classic case of overdesigning. The 'broken' white stripes look shit also. Not sure about the odd collar.
  10. Tottenham at home is a good first up match, in some ways it would have been better to have the rich teams scheduled during ACN Africa Cup of Nations runs from 19th of Jan to the 10th of Feb. If it was a Senegal vs Ivory Coast final they'd likely miss the following: Norwich (A) Reading (H) Aston Villa (A) Chelsea (H) Tottenham (A)
  11. Would be nice if you could link directly from the calendar to the match thread.
  12. CAn't you configure your sat nav to take you on the shortest route as opposed to the quickest?
  13. You suggesting that he's a sick note?

    Demba Ba

On the Shola, he's turned into a handy sub off the bench. Frustrating as hell, and injury plagued but has somehow endeared himself despite having a shoddy league goal scoring record. On Demba Ba, we should do all we can within reason to keep him. Letting him go for 7-7.5M whilst a reasonable bit of business would hurt the squad. I'd say him beeing here will help Papiss Cisse and realistically I don't think we'd replace him with someone as good for that price. He is a hot and cold player though as we've seen, started very cold, went very hot and then cooled off to warm in the latter part of the season. Ultimately another capable striking/winger option might help to keep him fresh and on the goal scoring sheet. If we can't keep him, then we can't keep him. There would have to be some contingency players that could be brought in, just hope that it's sorted well before the season starts.
  15. Passing it about can work if you've got a bit of tooth up front and more importantly someone who can unlock the defense/create a chance. Don't really think Liverpool have the latter and Suarez is good at everything apart from scoring. It would be virtually impossible to be worse than they were under Dalglish as they seemingly had no structure whatsoever. Rodgers will have multiple hands up his arse the whole time regardless of the assurances that he was given to get him across the line. He's an easy signing to make because he looks promising, is young and could easily be disposed of if things don't go well. The Liverpool supporters won't be realistic in their aspirations so having a good start will be key. He won't really know how to spend significant money so they're not likely to give him much meaningful say in the transfer of players.
  16. (to the tune of that's amore) He's slim and he's sleek, With a nose like a beak, Amal-fitanooooo He came here from France, In size 28 pants, Amal-fitanooooo When the ball hits the net, It's a goal don't you bet, Amal-fitanooooo
  17. Would be happy for him to stay, but honestly for his footballing development we would not be his best option.

  19. Don't say it too loud in front of Cabaye though, or he might... push your kid over
  20. Probably shouldn't be so negative, but wonder what the wording on their contracts is in regards to their League position, hopefully bonuses are straight out based on finishing in the top four and not contingent upon actual qualification to the Champions Legaue...

What's with everyone wanting to take Crouch? Apart from being shit and a free kick giving machine he's 31. Carroll didn't have a good season, but IMO is better, certainly at the same age he's leagues ahead.
