When was the last time we had a match abandoned? Not including that pre-season one a few years back where they played more than half the game on a heavily waterlogged pitch in strong rain. I can't remember a premier league game of ours bing abandoned in recent time, though could have slipped my mind.

Steven Taylor is apparently available, however don't see him being rushed back in by Pardew. I would welcome it, he at least offers a threat from set pieces and isn't afraid to take the ball forward if space opens. Other teams know they can hound Williamson and get the ball back through an aimless hoof.

On a scale of one to ten how annoyed would people be if Shola started up front in this? I would probably be about an 8 I think.

Surely they could loan him out to a local club under the provision that he forgoes his current level of pay and gets whatever he can negotiate with them. Once the crisis comes to a conclusion he returns to us.

Are you suggesting he's on 20k after tax in France? I hope at least that the club weigh how much they wanted Remy and the possibilities of alternatives when considering if they go back to him with an improved offer. I'm not suggesting QPR money, but something to bridge the gap a little could be enough to sway him back. Not suggesting that the club be held to ransom in any way, but at some point reality needs to be faced. If we don't have any viable alternatives on the go then the prospect of adding noone up front becomes very real and ultimately very scary.

Needs emphasising. Not saying it's entirely down to complacency or anything like that but Cisse regardless of the way he plays is guaranteed a starting spot at the moment. Santon is the same. With Steven Taylor out Williamson is in the same position too.

Many of the hoofs come from Williamson, so replace him in the side and that's a big step towards changing the way we play. Next they need to work on improving Krul's kicking and getting him to look for shorter more accurate passing options as he's another prime candidate. Simpson being replaced in the first team by Debuchy should help as well.
