Bloody hell, horrible start.

Entertaining first half. Our players were eager from the start, and it was great to see the first option was always to play it out from the back. As a result of dominating possession and ultimately getting the opening goal our fullbacks were pushing high up the pitch. Santon was sticking to his left channel, combining with Remy well but Debuchy was also coming in field on occassion. This left us exposed at the back where their most enterprising player (Brady) got behind Debuchy to cross for what should have been a goal. Somehow Krul managed to pull off an exceptional save, but it was all for nothing as almost immediately after the clearance the ball was back with Brady in all sorts of space on their left. It was a tidy finish from him between the advancing Krul's legs, but the real question was why had Debuchy pushed so far inside. Ben Arfa too could have been more proactive in pushing back to pickup the unmarked man. From there it was a flowing game with us obviously bossing possession, but Hull were not without influence. Despite them creating perhaps the two most clear cut chances of the half we're good for our lead.

Remy again!!! Cabaye shot touched by a defender into his path - clinically dispatched with great body shape allowing him to get the shot away instinctively.

Good block Debuchy, though out defense is looking scratchy. If I was less biased I would credit Hull with the way they're playing.

I understand the logic behind not wanting to 'drop' Cisse, but yes it's pretty harsh on Gouffran who has done well when called on for the most part. Certainly been more effective than Cisse. We can't afford to carry a player in the hope that he can be played into form. I'm hoping that he now goes and scores a belter...

Thank you Tim Krul. Saved what looked like a certain goal.... But then they've scored anyway. Debuchy well out of position in the centre of the pitch there and Brady who looks their most enterprising player slots in between Krul's legs. Harsh for Krul two one on ones in less than a minute. A harsh reality check for our over eager fullbacks perhaps..

Remy's movement is quite awkward looking, but thus far he's exceptional at reading the positioning and balance of the defender in such a way that it allows him to jink by them. Nice to watch, and is clearly lifting the rest of the team.

Remy!!! Good run sissoko lofted cross misshit on the volley Cisse and Remy right where a good striker should be putting it away.

Confident start, looks like our players are really up for this.

Good to see Ferguson on the pitch with the first team, though it was a bit odd the way Colo had to lead him around...
