Of course they are, but compared with permanent transfers there is slim pickings in terms of quality.

Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team
OTF replied to Kid Dynamite's topic in Newcastle Forum
All in all 160k in fines, name dragged through the mud and testicles removed all for a headbutt simulation. What a beat up. Haidara is incredibly lucky to not suffer permanent damage from a malicious and violent tackle and the FA does nothing, yet here they act all high and mighty with big fines and bans. It's not even double standards it's a complete and utter lack of standards.- 10610 replies

Excepting that good players being available for loan is the exception rather than the rule.
-
Ball to arm there, but he had little justification for having his arms flapped out like a bird. Nevermind, we were poor and deserved what we got.
-
Potent there from Marveaux.
-
They're not worse than us in this game.
-
We've lost most of the games we've been shit in also. Someone please chart that up.
-
Shocker from Krul there, I'd say Fulham deserve a goal.
-
Shola all set to come on... And then sat back down. I wonder whether Pardew was involved.
-
Cisse trying the same, on his way to League one.
-
Apparently there was a few mm of the ball on the line. In real time it did look like it had crossed with separation between the ball and line...
-
Oddly enough it was against Fulham in 08/09 where Mark Viduka had a perfectly good goal disallowed. It would have been the difference between relegation and staying up for us...
-
Fulham robbed there. The ball was over the line.

I'd like to see the club bring in celebrity or regular punter 'managers' to sit in his spot in the interim.- 10610 replies

Can't quite put my finger on it, but have you photoshopped something into that picture? Is it the sponsorship?

Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team

You don't think that the attention that this has garnered in the media is a self-fulfilling prophecy regarding the poor reflection this is on the game? A similarly weak head contact was initiated by Shelvey on one of our players earlier in the season and not only did it get almost no media coverage but it also garnered no penalty for the player. The media are loving every minute of this controversy with the general ignorant media consumer buying into the manufactured outrage.- 10610 replies

Pretty harsh assessment there as it was fizzed in off target at a fair pace.

Egg on his bonce from that Don't think it would have left a mark on the boy in the bubble. Pardew's responses to the media give the impression that he'll be applying Mike's favourite shade of lipstick before they discuss this...- 10610 replies

This is technically true, and therefore it wasn't actually a headbutt. Treated as such by the FA though, which is completely understandable but makes it even more incomprehensible that a player let alone a manager would ever perform such a useless self defeating action.
-
Ashley probably thinks it's a good bit of entertainment, and is contemplating how he can upstage him next in bringing embarrassment to the club.
-
Yeah, well done, good job pushing the opposing manager. Commendable effort really. Don't think him overacting or not will have any impact whatsoever on the fines and suspension that will surely be coming the way of Pardew.
-
I suppose you could argue that players are at least involved in the physical aspects of the game. In this instance it was Myler who brought Pardew into the realms of that physicality, but as a manager a certain level of maturity is to be expected.
-
And so the Pardew defense has been born.... "Your honour, I did not assault him, I was merely making my way to the gentlemen's after a few ales. I attempted to push him away with my fists however that proved unsuccessful and he went to ground (I suspect intoxicated) so I switched to using my legs." Bloody peanut.
