Let's hope the last chapter has been written in his book at Newcastle United. There's been a few odd paragraphs of brilliance in there, but for a tale of that length the plot failed to develop at all.

I do enjoy when the club that spends the most money wins it. It's what this game is about these days. Looking at the fans though, money can buy you happiness.

After watching the replay both commentators agreed that it was a red, saying that he "followed through" after the contact. Might as well read off a script inconsequential to what actually happens on the pitch.

Not sure what Dummett was doing though?

Is this game the season in 90 minutes? First half doing well, ahead of where we thought we would be. Then in the second half it all goes to shit, we lose a key player and carry on with nothing to play for.

Yep, nothing in it. Our defending set pieces is woeful though, conceding one you can stomach, but two from the same spot both to the back post is shameful at this level. Here comes another Ameobi to tell the ref what he really thinks.

I can only imagine Shola was still complaining about being fouled. Two yellows immediately following each other. Why he didn't fully unload on the fat headed twat after being shown the second yellow I don't know. We've been a man down against this lot before this season.

It's good to see that our players can still be motivated by something - the occasion. Unfortunately here it's technically not our occasion. Not expecting it to last, but enjoying it while it does.

The commentators going on about that Suarez kick he took in lieu of a free-kick. The one where the ball was moving and where the ref hadn't blown for it to be taken yet. They're suggesting it should be given simply because he hit it so well, and that kind of play shouldn't be discouraged (presumably play that is in direct opposition to the rules).

The Grey/Silver strip looks ok.

To be fair it was a very dangerous ball in from Gouffran, with Shola in the mix to get it.

Umm, you're only six points behind Southhampton and if Stoke win today and you guys don't you go down but that's pretty much still a very good position. I know you got your hopes up a couple of seasons ago (begins to laugh, directed at newcastle supporting host) when you finished a little bit higher (camera switches to host whose expression says 'shut up you jerk') but with all the turmoil and what's been going on behind the scenes I still think ninth place, it could be far worse than that".

This is true. I'm foolishly hoping that Pardew will be shown the door in the offseason.

Maybe. I'm as jaded as most but I can't help but feel Ashley will need to bring players in over the summer. This is out of fear of relegation and not to be mistaken for any sort of ambitious intent.
