  1. And jeopardise everything the Carver has done?
  2. We're the footballing equivalent of glamour photography. We make everyone look good.
  3. Yeah, everything he says points to the fact that he believes they can't do any better. The players are clearly not great but they're being further undermined by a manager who doesn't even pretend to believe in their ability and to make matters worse can't even get the most basic of team selection decisions right.
  4. That must be in relation to setting up the cones in training.
  5. They couldn't even make the backwards pass from the kick off!
  6. Apparently Carver told Williamson he wasn't playing but he keeps playing regardless.
  7. I'll be watching mainly out of morbid curiosity... Plus the game is on at a very reasonable time for us. I honestly would not mind some kind of implosion from our players and/or Carver. I have a degree of sympathy for both, but they're not up to scratch and ultimately deserve to be shown up appropriately. Relegation is what Mike Ashley deserves and that's why I'd have no problems with him wearing it because of his complete and utter lack of consideration for what a football club should ultimately be interested in - playing good football.
  8. If we stay up and if Carver is manager next season I can see a record breaking season ahead. 11 points* over 38 games, such a mouth watering prospect! * - four of those points were from us.
  9. Mr Ashley, your campaign seems to have the momentum of a runaway freight train. Why are you so popular?

I'm pretty sure it's ok if it's with a two year old.

Love it. I was big on He-Man and the Master of the Universe. Despite what HMHM believes He-man is still watchable, more so than some of the hyperactive shite that gets peddled these days. My two year old loves He-Man which is available on Hulu. It helps that my folks still have all my old He-Man toys. Other shows I watched were, MASK, COPS, Mysterious Cities of Gold, Inspector Gadget, Danger Mouse, Super Ted, Dungeons and Dragons, TMNT.
  12. So why subject yourself to an abject performance in a glorified advertisement hoarding?
  13. "the sound on them is really good" - Gemmill .....will be all over their packaging before you know it.
  14. Pardew had a good period here also, but was overdue being moved on. He was out of ideas, and out of excuses for his lack of ideas. Obviously he's only a part of what was wrong with the club, but seemingly one that could be remedied in a relatively straightforward manner. Not so, as Ashley was happy to write off the rest of the season entirely by failing to install a new manager in any meaningful capacity. Logically there should be a wider pool of candidates available at the close of season from which a new manager will be selected. I don't think even Ashley is naive enough to think that Carver is a prospect as manager. If you were optimistic I guess you could reason that a wider pool could land us a better manager and the slate is wiped clear at the end of a the season so it's the right time to bring in a new manager and refresh the playing personnel.
  15. At the very least it's a whole lot less exposure for his Sports Direct advertising. That is something he would care about.
  16. What's the horse puncher up to these days?
  17. I also don't believe he would go under those circumstances. The primary answer to your question is spite. He's taken a financial risk not caring for the on field endeavours spare survival. He's showed a continued blatant disregard for the club and those who support it. I'd like him to take a financial hit from taking that risk. No doubt he would limit his own exposure financially but there would be a direct impact to his primary concern - Sports Direct. As others have noted there is nothing to play for at the moment. In the championship there is a clear purpose. One of my favourite seasons was our promotion in 08/09. As a supporter there's nothing to look forward to as a middling club with a dying/dead profile and a weakly knitted patchwork of foreign players playing for themselves, rarely for their teammates. Perhaps the most notable remaining element of Newcastle United is the full stadium. This IMO has gone from a strength to a weakness as it would appear there's a large number of poorly informed non discerning supporters who will go to games regardless of the rubbish being served up and the disregard being showed to them by the owner.
  18. The club deserves to be relegated. As a fan there's little to lose if that were to happen. Our footballing performance are horrid currently and have been for the majority of the season. Ashley took a risk on survival by weakening the squad strength relative to the rest of the league and further by failing to replace Pardew in a timely manner. The only meaningful financial hit would be for us to be relegated, even vastly reduced gates wouldn't cause anywhere near the decrease in income. It's got to the point that if I could choose whether we stay up or get relegated I honestly think I'd choose to be relegated.
  19. If the current level of on field performance continues surely the masses will eventually stop going. It's atrocious to watch, not a semblance of entertainment to be had.
  20. Well there is is, that little twat unsurprisingly.
