  1. I wouldn't mind giving Haidara a consistent run at left back (with Dummet to deputise once fit) as long as our gaping holes are sorted.
  2. Now is happening. Lower wages are the reason why we're going for this guy rather than Austin. Don't ever dare dream that we'd be in for both.
  3. Interesting goal celebration.
  4. We don't need a replacement you stupid Ashley conditioned confirmists, we need strikers in addition to him. When you have no depth you not only are at high risk in relation to injuries but you also have no competition for spots which results in poorly performing players maintaining their position with no effort and/or contribution (Gouffran). Given how poor the current board appears to be at signing players it would be foolish to endorse the selling of a player who clearly knows where the back of the net is, even if he's getting on and has had a bad run of injuries.
  5. Give yourself some credit. It's not that you could have done nothing, you did do nothing. Even better you then proceeded to tell everyone about the great many ways in which you did nothing and achieved nothing. Well played.
  6. They've been dragging down the profile of the club through the removal of both the identity and the underlying desire to achieve something on the pitch. It's testament to the commitment of the supporters that it's only really now that they've been hit so evidently by declining season ticket sales. Their cheap words in trying to bring the reformed around are nothing short of embarrassing and one can only hope that these supporters who were so loyal to the club will show the same commitment in staying away from games. If there was any degree of substance in Mike Ashley's interview on the final day of the season we'd have seen Charlie Austin and others signed already. The reality is there is no change and there never will be one under Mike Ashley.
  7. It appears we have hit a new all time low.
  8. Yep, I've seen enough in Cabella to know he's a good player. I'd expect improvement across the board from players eager to stake their claim to a spot in the eleven. There's no way I'm getting carried away at any stage with the runs Ashley has up on the Douche Board, but at the very least this should make us more watch able. There will be subsequent player investment however it remains to be seen whether they'll get lucky in the inevitable 'bargain' range that the majority, if not all of our purchases will be.
  9. That will only come if there is significant money spent on an overhaul of the squad. I foresee a reasonable amount of money being spent, however it's likely to be poorly focussed in terms of constructing a team. I can't see Ashley changing his modus operandi in relation to buying players to sell on for a profit, meaning that the focus will be on opportunistic bargains rather than fulfilling the requirements for McClaren's grand plan. Whatever the case I'd say it will be an improvement on both Carver and Pardew.
  10. Surely no way through this for Blatter, as Andrew inferred as the President of FIFA the buck stops with him if there was systematic corruption in the ranks whether he is directly implicated or not. I'd not be shocked though if he finds some way through this, the fact that he's still there now is testament to just how effective he is at being corrupt.
  11. Hey Mike, we won something.....
  12. He's a gambler. That was high stakes gambling; approx 85m pounds next season and several million pounds this one. He may have been temporarily enthused by it all but I can't see the appeal lasting.
  13. He did look unprepared, that's for sure. Knew the bottom line of what he wanted to say - that he wasn't going to sell, the rest was made up on the spot, typical cheap words to placate the masses. He's had ample opportunity to speak with his actions. For every forwards steps there's been there has been a subsequent leap backwards. Dont mistake movement over the summer as a change in his modus operandi, the only thing he's out to win is more money for his empire.
  14. I'd say it's more in response to the media who have turned on him, and more specifically how the club has been run into the ground. Where the articles were once concerned with stereotypical delusional supporters they're now rightfully of a soulless club. Ashley was basically going through the motions in terms of content. At the same time it afforded him the ability to make a less than subtle jibe directed at the protests to get him out of the club. He'll only go on him terms. Sadly there is such direct avenue for a retort. In terms of structure he should have finished with the biggest punchline; the one where the club is not for sale at ANY price.
  15. Effectively that was an 85 million pound game. With Carver at the helm.
  16. Top dogs. AKA..... Tallest dwarves in the circus.
  17. Riviere obviously upset over his own performance and surely amazed that he was kept out there for 90.
  18. More of this next year. Stay of execution for the fish.
  19. He'll surely make a few more subs in the added time.
