Of course, but the only way to change it is to prove that it doesn't acheive its alleged objective. Ultimately The premier league should also know better, it's actually in their interest for new powerhouses to emerge so that there is meaningful competition for trophies and if all teams in the league can strengthen it will only serve to dilute the talent pool for competing leagues/products.

PSR in its current guise is a self-defeating exercise; clubs are forced to sell their best and brightest young talent to limitless overlords by an arbitrary date which only serves to reduce the sale price. Subbsequently they then need to replace that talent to remain competitive, often having to spend aggressively to do so. I actually like that some of them have been reciprocally transferring youth players for numbers allegedly above their worth to facilitate adherence to the rules. The selling of Brennan Johnson also highlights perfectly how inneffectual PSR is at achieving what it allegedly sets out to do; protect the longer term financial interests of a club. If Forest sold Johnson in the accounting window it would have been for £20m less than they sold him for a few months later. How would doing that have been in Forest's long term financial interests?

I thought I had made my position clear on DCL for the last time.
-
I won't ask you to prove it.

Exactly, Paul Dummett was in one of these lists not so long ago.
-
Probably by trying to do everything above board.
-
We couldn't afford him anyway. Isn't our supposed PSR defecit in the ballpark of £25m and not 40 btw? Surely we can scramble together that much in additional sponsorship revenue. Do we not yet have an official Canine Dental Sticks partner, or a preferred Weight Loss Medication partner?

Did Lee Ryder pen that second sentence?

Asian Domenic Calvert..... ? Self reported.

So as I was saying DCL is fucking shit.

Everton have been wholly dire for several seasons, though they weren't last terrible last season. He's a finisher. If it was a swap between the two (it's not) IMO it would be a no brainer to get the player 5 years younger who's superior in the air and has been playing hamstrung by a poor side. Many Everton supporters didn't rate Gordon.
-
Everton will probably be happy significantly lowering the wage bill whilst technically not allowing DCL to whittle down the contract and leave on a free.
-
Being totally honest I actually think DCL is a good player, agressive, athletic with good straight line pace especially for his size. A very good header of the ball, can finish with both feet and is good at getting under the skin of defenders (partly because he's a bit of a wanker). He's better than Wilson is currently but if there could be improvement under Howe I could see him fitting in well, that's if we're interested in him. If we're not he's a complete and utter bellend.

Having watched our academy players get fucking thumped by A-League "All-Stars" I'm quite certain that there’s none amongst that bunch (Kuol included) who are up to scratch.

I can't see us spending £35m on DCL, even if that's what Everton want. We paid £20m for Wilson and the market has risen substantially since then still £35m for DCL is overs. Wilson has been an excellent signing even accounting for all the time he has missed with injuries and Mrs Wykiki. We're on the tightrope of FFP and PSR and not wanting to tarnish the hard work we have done thus far to adhere to it I can't see us resorting to Man City and Chelsea style operations where bending of rules end up being tolerated (thus far) due to size and legal position. What that means, especially with no European income, is essentials only whilst we hang onto our best talent and move on anyone non-critical who gives us a balance sheet boost. Just threw up a little in my mouth thinking of Mike Ashley as I formed that last sentence.
-
When we bought Wilson it was off the back of him scoring 8 goals and providing 1 assist across 37 games in 2019/20 for Bournemouth as a 28 year old. This season past across 35 games DCL has scored 8 goals and provided 3 assists as a 27 year old. I do agree though that 2 strikers (both with historic injuries problems) is cutting it very fine.
-
It makes sense only in the context of FFP/PSR both of which make little sense. DCL is a good player, if we can get him at a low price due to having a year left on his contract and a patchy injury record then it probably makes sense. Wilson is 5 years older. Despite their similar frames DCL and Isak are very different players that could potentially work ok together, though with our existing system would be used individually. Both Almiron and Wilson will be sold if there is any interest. It's ridiculous that last season out only two strikers were Wilson and Isak. Without Europe it's a little more palatable but still leaves us short if we only sell and replace Wilson. It's a shame really as I feel Wilson has done enough here to play out his time as an impact substitute and potential cup starter (when his body is able) but regulations outside of our control mean that we can't 'afford' to do this.
-
He's not a similar player to Miley though. Anderson has always been wasteful whereas Miley protected possession well was defensively more present and showed a better range of passing without requiring space and time. We've seen enough of Anderson over the years. He'll definitely improve but I can't see him being at the level we want to be.
-
That's the clearest part of this. He comes out smelling like shit, and good luck to sorting out their massive overspending in the amount of time their fickle fans will give.
-
It's so ridiculous that he's still in charge, at this point he's morphing into a Steve Bruce who knows when to keep his mouth shut (both in the media and in the fridge/kebab shop etc).

Why did you have to say current? How many partners do you have your dorty dorty bast'd.

Why did he stop short of telling us who these 'proper journalists' are? Proper tease he is.
