    We had 37% possession West Ham are horrible but many positives to take from this game, namely Hayden and Merino in midfield and the properly channeled efforts from Ritchie.

    Rafa's picked the best side available without impacting on the team selection for the weekend, suggesting he purposely sent a rubbish side out to prove a point is silly. On another day the same side could easily have won. The draw for the next match make the loss slightly more palatable as we'd surely be on a hiding to nothing sending our second string there - lightning doesn't strike twice at the same location*. Rafa seems to believe that there will be action before the window snaps shut, here's hoping as it is patently necessary. *- scientifically incorrect statement but you get the point.

    Surely de jong has been sold/is in the process and that's why he hasn't features. He's the highest pedigree of the players we're looking to shift.

    I play a fair bit of football also, sore was probably an exaggeration but I could definitively feel it the next day, the test ride was very short up a hill. Oddly didn't feel anything much in the legs from my next ride which was 11.5km, twas more from the saddle (didn't have padded pants at this stage).

    Merino read the play well but his passing was atrocious. Hayden was without glamour in the championship, in the PL so far he gets a participation award just to keep his mam quiet. Perez is never a #10 though the weight on the ball for Ritchie's shot was just right. We need some true quality in midfielf to lift the likes of Ritchie, Atsu, Murphy and Merino. Shelvey too l suppose, but that moron is in my bad books currently.

    I can opt in or our month to month so may get it for a while if there's any meaningful action in the market in the next week and a bit. Otherwise might just skip it and save myself the stress* * possibly kidding myself about being able to do that

    For sure. Leadership and a bit of backbone. Mitrovic should be out there for the latter, no one else in our squad has that sort of edge. I'm hopeful that we'll get some of it from Lejeune.

    You pay for Foxtel surely, is your beef that it's only the premier league on Optus? Did you watxh any other leagues on Foxtel prior to last season? I'm watching on the Optus free trial currently, trying to decide if it will be worth paying $15 a month. Based on the quality of the service so far I would say it's worth it, based on the quality of our play not even close.

    Merino is defensively better than Hayden based on that showing. He could partner someone else there and be effective if he makes better decisions with the ball. By effective I obviously mean limiting the number of goals we're defeated by.

    I agree, Atsu has been as bad today as he was good last week and Ritchie is having an irritated game, they seldom end well.

    Surely some nerves but Merino's passing has been horrible. Positive is that he seems to read the play defensively very well.

    Good finish Mooy, but shoddy defending unsurprisingly way too much time in the lead up.

    Yeah, Gayle is waiting for balls that aren't coming with the way we're playing. Very sloppy passing. Agree that Ritchie could come off, give Murphy a run. If we're actually going to look after the ball perhaps make room for Joselu or Mitro.
