  1. Soft free kick and goal France.
  2. France's to lose, hope they bottle it the diving cheats.
  3. Disappointing but it was men vs boys out there once the tide turned and Southgate did nothing to reset things despite ample opportunity. A young team will be improved by this but a golden draw like that won't come around again in a hurry. Croatia were the better team on the balance, England's movement and decision making was poor and got worse as the game progressed. Must be said it's a great draw for Croatia to come up against such an inexperienced side. All that said I thought the officiating was poor and favoured Croatia heavily.
  4. Knew nothing about it, but still a very good save. Critical for England who look clueless at the moment.
  5. Really lacking some leadership out there. Hope they find a way out of it without going to penalties as they look very nervous, Pickford in particular.
  6. And condolences @PaddockLad. Part of my family traces back to the mother land too.
  7. Keep feeding it back to Pickford who just recycles the ball back to Croatia. Midfield should be dropping back to give the defense better options on the deck. I know they're in the lead but if they play like this and concede they'll struggle to change to get a winner. They're not getting any favours from the ref for the persistent fouling, several of their players should be on yellows. For the record I'm very much going for England in case it feels I'm being critical of them.
  8. Almost 40 min in and it doesn't look like England have settled yet. Central midfield doing nothing out there, defense could easilt concede as well.
  9. Wonder if it'll be better for England to lose this one to go into the easier side of the draw in the next round.
  10. Shame our sponsor is an eyesore at the moment.
  11. I don't know why I think things like this, but if we managed to have Townsend and Kenedy out wide then Mitrovic could really shine. That's of course in the fantasy where Townsend routinely crosses and Mitrovic routinely runs.
  12. Courtney Cox's finest work tbh. It might have been a smidge better if they didn't blow the budget before dubbing Dolph Lundgren out of it. The rest are 80s classics, I'd add Short Circuit, Big, and the first two Police Academy. The latter are surely utter shite but still iconic. Oh, Back to the Future as well. Class.
  13. I like him, but I'll be glad when he's gone. He's not mobile enough to play in a Benitez team. Hopefully we get a reasonable amount for him, even though there's every chance it won't be reinvested in the squad.
  14. It's the attitude of the German team/players that drives the delight in their exit if you ask me. Other favourites will go and not attract the same scorn.
  15. Is it too late for England to bring Joe Hart into the team?
  16. When was the last time someone young, pacey and promising went to a big English club, didn't play and then went on to resurrect their career successfully elsewhere in England? If there is an answer, ask it again for a british player.
  17. Pfft, he's not the king. Thank fuck.
  18. The Griezmann one is tough because the replays they saw didn't show clear contact of the ball from Risdon. There was another made available afterwards that showed a clear deviation. Now I know that the ball then came back off Griezmann before the contact, so Risdon touching the ball on his tackle doesn't rule out a penalty still, so there's still a decision to be made. What works in the defender's behaviour is that after getting to the ball he doesn't make any additional movement to get to Griezmann, it's his rear leg that slides in from the momentum of the tackle for the contact. Griezmann's touch at this point is too heavy and he would not have beat the keeper to the ball. He goes to ground easilt knowing this. It's 50/50 IMO and I'm biased so I say no penalty.
  19. Pretty much agree with the rest however disagree on the analysis of the Poulson one. He basically left the ground at the same time as Leckie was heading the ball and brought his arm up over his shoulder height into what was the subsequent flight path of the ball off Leckie's head. He never had a chance of heading the ball. To all of the never headed a ball experts out there suggesting that that is a natural position for your arm to be in when jumping to head a ball have a look at Leckie, a player actually heading a ball in a leap higher than Poulson's. His arms don't even go close to being shoulder height let alone above. Players with their hands up in the box are cheating and/or daft.
  20. Mbappe comically finding his way to the ground whenever there's a defender near him. Ahhh, France, don't ever change.
  21. Keep your sick kinks to the general forum thanks.
  22. Depends on the club as well obviously. Leicester are a destination club only if you're on massive wages.
  23. Shame his own quoting of the rules betrays his attempt at making a point. "Does not neccessarily" is nothing like "does not mean". A defender sticking their arm up in the air when they're between the attacking player and the goal when they can't get to the header is an obvious attempt to increase their size in an attempt to stop the ball getting past them. There's absolutely zero reasons to have your hand up otherwise in a sport where you're penalised for handling the ball. The yellow is because doing the above is unsporting conduct, also known as cheating.
  24. Fantastic result for Mexico, great to see their player's emotion on display in stark contrast to the Germans who arrogantly refused to show any after what is a hugely disappointing result for them.
