  1. Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse.... it's Michael Owen in the studio.
  2. Buoyed by the announcement of their new manager they're eager to impress.
  3. FITE! After some terrible defending we conceded a second, I can't tell and don't really care whether it was a good finish or just Karl Darlow standing in the wrong spot. And we've just conceded another with some even worse defending. Jota tackled a dallying Hayden in the middle of our box and slotted it home.
  4. 0-1 down. About what you'd expect in a pre-season game, it's slow and we're second best.
  5. His song is a great one. Back to team news, Lazaar and Colback start.
  6. In a match described world wide by pundits as happening in China, the north east giants Newcastle United take on the West Midlands behemoths Wolverhampton Wanderers. It's a battle for the ultimate victory, over 90 or thereabouts confirmed minutes of regulation football. The whole of Nanjing either will or won't be on the edge of their seats in anticipation for what many supporters could be calling the biggest football match to be happening at that precise moment in time in Nanjing China. Old scores will be settled at the Olympic Sports Centre, scores like 1-1 and 1-2 come to mind. Early team news suggests that it will be some arrangement of 11 vs another arrangement of 11 in this key football match as both teams lock horns in determining who will be the winner, if indeed there is one. This is being shown live on Sky and on several of the major football showing networks around the world, including the one that I have, so I will be watching this at the prime time of 8PM local time in Sydney, Australia. I'm prepared to be dazzled.
  7. Right, so surely there are others like that who would not require compensation to be paid?
  8. Let's be honest, you'd piss yourself regardless that would just be a convenient cover.
  9. Ashley 'saving' some more cash by not having to pay coaching staff for down time during the off-season. I honestly don't understand why they would be pursuing Bruce at all, stunning lack of logic on that. Apart from being cut price in terms of wage, the only thing I can think of is that he's a Geordie and Ashley and Charnley believe the vapid media who insist that Newcastle supporters want a local manager. Let's disregard completely the fact that the most popular manager in recent times, despite the most turbulent atmosphere in recent times, was a Spaniard. Surely there would be other more modern managers who they could get on similar wages who have lesser compensation kr are currently unattached. It's not as though they haven't had a lengthy amount of time to get things sorted. Pure incompetence.

Finally he will have the support that he craved from Newcastle supporters.
  11. He was a reasonable keeper as well, but always seemed way too pudgy for a professional football player. Probably speaks to his professionalism and struggle with injuries.
  12. All hail King Julien the new messiah.
  13. Fair to also say that the newest local generation won't have the same level of support as previous ones so there will be a lasting impact upon the supporter base. Internationally as well there will be a huge drop as they officially slide back into a pack of anonymous clubs that they have somehow managed to keep their nose ahead of despite Ashley's identity stripping inside job.
  14. Bassong was more than a reasonable prospect, Guthrie had talent and Xisco..... was an exception.
  15. What can this forum be rebranded as? Tynetastic? Get behind big Mike and the lads in their push for the National League.
  16. There's nothing to lose for me lad, if they win nobody will care, if they lose a few (myself included) will watch a three minute highlight package, smirk, then get on with their day.
  17. I'd really like ut if they lost in the final. Don't think that will happen though, if it does it will be a victory for morality, even if it's the Dutch getting 7 dubious VAR handball penalties and winning 1-0. From what I've seen the USA players have shown no humility throughout the tournament, most patently against Thailand, but continuing beyond. When they could have been winning fans to the game and for themselves they've distanced themselves from everyone that isn't American. Safe to say that their own country probably doesn't give two hoots about them either, let's not forget that their men's team didn't even qualify for the World Cup.
  18. Absolutely taking the piss with the inspired by 69 spin. Once again a basic stripes fail. Terrible. That said a few games into the season I won't care at all (assuming we have a new owner).
  19. Primarily the latter for me, with some hope that a new owner will have legitimate ambition.
