  1. Well that was wholly unexpected. Our best performance in quite some time, defended as a team and what for me stood out as the biggest difference was individual decision making and application. We understandably lost a bit of that towards the end, but earlier on our players were making the right decision to hold on to the ball and look for better options. At the end of the day if you're in the premier league you're an elite level footballer and you should be able to get the simple stuff right. They did that tonight and that solidified them as a team and gave the defense something to work for throughout. Smart and decisive defending and some very good saves from Darlow. We badly needed a performance like this, it will be interesting to see how this contributes to our display against Leicester.
  2. Wilson is such a good player.
  3. Newcastle rated 20th and Liverpool 1st on the following: - Touches - Passes - Shots - Passes in opposition half - Passes into final third - Touches in opposition box Should be a close one, good luck Karl.
  4. They took 4 points off us, wasn't Savage, was their striker can't think of their name at the minute, won't google it because it will come to me.
  5. From NUFC.com If ever anyone needed any proof that Bruce is a fraud. It flat out doesn't matter if he's a good bloke, gets on with the lads, helps old ladies cross the road, writes cracking crime fiction or whatever else is alleged of him, he has a shit record because he's a shit manager whichbis why we're playing the worst football we've played in more than 25 years (I can't comment on prior). He's in the job because we have a shit owner who is a stubborn prick who refuses to learn from his mistakes. The mainstream media are completely and utterly out of touch with juat how bad things are because they aren't watching us week in and week out. At best they catch the odd game against darling opposition where we willlingly conform to our rightful role as fodder, then looking at the table thwy can smugly announce that Bruce is doing a good job with a tough crowd and the weigh of expectation up north. Except there is no tough crowd, just another ill informed misjudgement from pundits who couldn't care less about our current situation. There's not even an expectation that the removal of Bruce will have any lasting effect ok the overall trajectory of the club, the end of the Ashley era is the only ticket for that ride, but it does at least offer the hope of the odd game of football where we're not left wondering yet again why we bothered to watch.
  6. You would have to think that this would be Bruce's last managers job certainly in the premier league, probably in the Championship. That said there does seem to be an incongruous practice of employing known entity managers despite the known element being that they are shite and play dour football and struggle tactically.
  7. "I thought we looked good up to 14 minutes, after that we've got to be better, but they're a very good side." - SB
  8. Not currently shitting, but Merry Christmas to the lot of you anyway. What a shit year in general but also for Newcastle. Can't believe I still watch the absolute shower that we have become week in and week out, I'm pretty sure it's because I have you lot on here to moan to about it, so thanks for that.
  9. We've never, in 20+ years, looked so consistently lacking in structure, strategy and general impetus for such a sustained period of time against such a variety of opposition. That includes two seasons that culminated in relegation. If the board were at least semi cognisant they'd have to be incredibly worried about the current state.
  10. "It was always going to be a tough ask"
  11. Geez, the ref was keen to get back to the change room there, 2 seconds of added time. Unsurprisingly Wilson has been our best player, with Fraser also lively. Worryingly Lewis has looked out of his depth on a few occasions.
  12. Steady on there Luke Edwards, as if Bruce has a formula.
  13. They've blown two incredibly good chances in theast few minutes.
  14. It's not yet 5AM here in my defense if I just whooshed myself under Quiff's quip.
  15. Is anybody able to explain the purpose of Andy Carroll? I know Callum Wilson is vastly superior but surely he deserves a rest and perhaps more importantly the risk of injury that would derail our season has to also figure prominently. I'm sure Wilson wants to play because surely he should get more service here than a premier league game but if Carroll can't do a job in a game like this then he's wasting a spot in the squad.
  16. Devastated for you and your family, thank you for speaking out about it as there is so much worth in doing so, and so much value in reaching out to those around us.
  17. If they get sold (or even if they don't) another season or two of sunlun til I die would likely be entertaining viewing.
  18. Classic Brucie smash and grab run on the agenda here, just a shame the grab is a work in progress and the smash is what will happen to us.
  19. Aye, Bruce really is a jammy fucker at the moment. Wilson with the classic strikers contact outside the box but delay the falling. The red I don't feel so bad about because it was a clear yellow and he wqs already on one. I'd be annoyed about the whole thing if I was a Fulham supporter, that should have been three vital points for them.
  20. 😄 That should have been my morning as well, instead I've treated myself to that clueless shower of shite. Take Wilson away this season and we'd be in the relegation zone. Of course we're still playing like relegation candidates but Wilson's nous and intelligence has helped to give us a return far greater than otherwise deserved.
  21. Indeed, that 2 points they missed out on there could be critical to their season. The way we're playing the point could also be critical for us.
