She had aged well, especially if you take personality into account - that's why I had the caveat of in the 90s. She's probably the only one who has improved with age. Wouldn't say no to any of them, though I've had to close my eyes with Posh these days.

Here's hoping.

Think it currently prevents them from registering any new players. Only a day and a bit to go in the window so don't expect they'd sort things out that quickly with all the moving parts involved.
-
Doesn't their embargo mean they can't bring in any new players themselves?

Possibly this massive Norwegian from Sheffield United on loan initially. That way if he works they can keep him or else they can stick with their original plans for the summer.

Yes, you're right. Should have just said Sporty.

As per Gloomy and Wyki was looking forward to see how he could fit in. He was the fittest he had ever been and genuinely motivated to earn a spot in the team. On some level he knew that this was his chance to go out on a high so he was doing all he could to make the most of it including being positionally more diligent, defensively more active and generally more disciplined, the three biggest criticisms that have plagued his career. He matured a few seasons too late to be honest. I thought he had triggered his extension here, but that must not be the case. Howe believed in him and was all set to bring him back into the rotation before his second injury. Perhaps now Shelvey sees Longstaff embedded and Gordon and Isak taking another forward/midfield position making it harder for him to crack a spot. If he doesn't go he's the kind of depth we should keep IMO, someone different and skilled who could potentially offer a lot of value in training.

Aye and my point when I started writing was supposed to be if you're going to make a story up go all out, don't be like I had sex with one of the Spice Girls in the 90s and then say it was Mel B.

Even if it's true it's more or less indication that the "group of lads" reluctantly went thinking it was going to be absolute shit. Best case is they got drunk enough to have a good time and told the Mackems that despite it being Sunderland they still had a decent time. And more likely is they had to twist their arms to go in the first place and then were so desperate for them to have a good time that the visiting lads would have felt obliged to tell him that the fans were 'brilliant'. Apart from that even in his embellished retelling the other comments aren't even particularly complementary. Can you imagine being so bitter that 17 years after an opposing team's player retired you'd still be singing about them in a game that doesn't even involve their old club. It's absurd.

Joelinton not so sure about the latest addition to the gold tops.

Craig if you're not careful.

If Ashworth left his office and took a shit in the middle of Bigg Market they'd have a story about how *googles it* Speakman took a much bigger shit in *googles it* Jacky White's Market.

Just don't forget about this when your mate starts spouting crap next transfer window and you're tempted to believe him again. In the...

I've not seen it mentioned anywhere, but Gordon was still on his 5 year contract at Everton that he signed as a 19 year old academy graduate who was just breaking into the first team. He's on comparative peanuts (sub 15k a week) which is a big part of why he wanted to leave. Everton baulked at improving his contract even after they avoided relegation which tells you just how poor their financial position is. They were either hoping to retain him on low wages or to sell him off. What it means for us is he doesn't go close to damaging our wage structure and his overall cost, despite the high initial price, is not as impactful to our FFP position as an older player of similar price would be. From everything I've seen of him the kid's a catalyst on the pitch which will be very welcome. He'll be eager to play for a team that's not holding up the league and Howe will embrace the challenge of getting the most out of him.

I slowed it down to confirm, the cunning prick drove in and then shortly after reversed back out.

Whilst we might play the long game for the most part the long game is a bit too late for a potential cup final in a month, or a season where top four could greatly accellerate the planned progress. If someone goes they'll either be replaced or will have been wholly surplus to requirements in the first place which Maxi is patently not. Your pal might gen sniffs of real info, but there's no way he's close enough to the top to see what is tightly held information. Howe, who is notoriously tight lipped, has already contradicted that summary. I would agree though that the plan has always been to do most of our business in the summer, but circumstances changes that (cup final, position in league) to the point where it would be foolish to be rigid in approach.
