It's not an excuse it's an explanation. Howe intended, or hoped, to make earlier subs against Wolves and couldn't because of how competitive they were. It was what we saw in the period where we had Champions League games an a thin squad so couldn't rest anyone. Here we have more depth in certain positions but didn't balance them across the games well enough and it showed. The Wolves game was High intensity and there's a big difference between 2 days and 3 days in regards to recovery. Travelled all over mate, England is tiny.

Totally deserved result, even without the ref assisting them they were heads and shoulders above us. Too many games for the same players to keep backing up in for us, you could tell from the very start. One to immediately forget and move on from.
