  1. Frivilous is the word they use, if we have any sort of case I don't think it should be considered frivilous.
  2. If it's deliberate and prevents an obvious goal scoring opportunity. The latter is the only part in contention, however upon my own follow up review it's a tenuous argument, if it goes straight off Pope's head to Salah and he takes the shot immediately our defender may not have been able to cover it in time due to the angle.
  3. Just rewatched the red card, it will be a hard task to get it overturned. There was only one player goal side, so if it was the last defender who handled there with just the keeper left I still think it would be given as a red. If Pope didn't instinctively cup his hand around the ball it still would have hit his outstretched arm (in a natural position). No hope for Pope In Karius we trust.
  4. Well said, if you press from the front, and have possession far up the pitch it naturally brings the defenders further up the pitch as you can't leave space between the defense and midfield. If Karius does play there will be something poetic about it...
  5. Agree. There's very little chance that they would extend the ban for this IMO. They'd have to consider it frivilous, there enough contention here and in the context of a cup final where our second option is cup tied it is anything but frivilous.
  6. BTW Arsenal as good as given the two points they missed out on against Brentford by the VAR this game.
  7. It's all down to whether it was an "obvious goal scoring opportunity". If it's immediately a handball there's no doubt that it was, however that was not the case. Pope heads it first and then handles the ball on the ground. In that time two of our defenders have covered ground to be between their player and the goal. Personally I think we have a case, but I'm biased so can't tell whether that's reality or my black and white specs.
  8. What Klopp said in the interview I saw was fair, his face is one of the most annoying things in the universe though, so you'd best avoid it. He basically said they were far from perfect (especially against 10 men) but the goals were perfect and he was happy to have kept a clean sheet away.
  9. Howe was questioning the red in the post match interview but also offering the disclaimer that he was not sure of the rules surrounding red cards for handballs. If there is any avenue for appeal we will take it, as I said earlier when he handled the ball we had two player goal side of the ball and their forward and it was 40 yards from goal.
  10. Can't be too happy about his hair transplant either given he always wears a cap.
  11. If it's possible to take positives from a game where we've conceded two and had our keeper sent off in the first half this is it. We've not looked outplayed with 10 men until the last minutes.
  12. I'm going to put my Eddie Howe hat on here and say that football is a matter of moments. The game here wasn't the issue, it was the moments that made the difference. Almiron had a great chance that we didn't convert, Wilson a great chance that we didn't convert and conversely in the moments where they scored they were at their best and we weren't.
  13. Just a reminder that given Gordon's cup tied he's completely off the leash here.
