  1. My Watford mate said he is a good championship defender. However, not sure on what he would be like in the Premiership. Aged 26 years.
  2. This. Because of course, all clubs publish every correspondence about what goes on don't they? Reading between the lines Beckford knew we were interested and wanted the move. Leeds denied him permission to talk so he submitted a transfer request. We didn't offer Leeds what they wanted and made it crystal clear we'll go no higher, they've told the player that there's no way they'll accept what we're offering during this window and therefore he's withdrawn his request. Fucking about with the player tbh and Ashley et al evidently believes we'll bag him for free during the summer. Serve them right if he tells them to fuck off if it is the case.... Or as Beckford says 'He loves putting on the Leeds shirt' and wanted to do them the courtesy staying until his contract runs out..
  3. It all fits: It is destiny, Toon getting relegated, Starved of success, Legends come and gone, Club being destroyed, Promotion is the priority, 3rd round, two of the top four teams (from last season atleast) are out, Newcastle owning 3-0 easy mode, It's in the bag lads.
  4. It's the year of the Toon Army.
  5. Reminds me of Lampard on lbc.
  6. Premier league did seem a lot harder last year, the top teams don't seem as good as they are. Don't get me wrong that's not an excuse, but I think we may of stood more of a chance against this Man Utd side. 17 of the teams Birmingham face this year came up against us last season. I hear what you're saying but the difference in all 17 of those sides is not that much different. We really were utter shite and in no way deserved to stay up. Birmingham are a good side. Check out the big brains on Brad... Jealous much?

  8. What I don't understand is that the Leeds fans are saying he has established legend status at the club and they all rate him. However by wanting out, he has betrayed them. Take a look at their forum. As a result, I can't comprehend why wyki is saying he is so shiet.
  9. No chance, he would be like £10million, quality player mind. Plus, better teams will be in for him other than us.

  11. Is Beckford being shiet the only thing you post about?
  12. Agree the last sentence totally the first bit I disagree with though, I think the likes of Taylor, Nolan, Jonas, Colo and to an extent Shola will all be on the radar for some of the "bigger" clubs in the Prem. There's bound to be some panic buying going on. Not only are we a selling club, we also seem to be push overs when it comes to negotiating ("How much? OK, it's a deal!". These days I think anybody would be sold for a 3m offer, to anybody (including Sunderland). The bargain hunters will be sniffing round. I'd add Enrique to the list. Well, if it means Ameobi is bought, I would be pretty happy. I agree. Selling all our best players is a worthy sacrifice to make if it means we'll also sell our best striker in the middle of a promotion bid. He clearly isn't. I rate all the three other strikers more than him. Most of his goals are there on a platter, any of our other strikers can put them away aswell. Let's be honest aswell, he hasn't been here most of the season either and we have done just fine.
  13. They tried but the planks were too short apparently.

  15. Yeah, shuddering at the thought of people like Beckford or Ameobi in the premiership!
  16. I know it is really ambitious. Just saying, if we had the funds: he would be the sort of player we should be looking for with next year in mind. I understand £8/9million will be the minimum for him.
  17. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...pur/8437017.stm I know it may be a bit ambitious knowing our current budget. However, worth a crack?
  18. Chrissy H on skysports saying he is interested in Beckford.
  19. I'll put the house on that we won't Yeah atleast 5months.
