Im not justifying it, but I was trying to give a potential reason as to why he wasn't sent straight off. And thanks, I definitely didn't steal it from an article on SkySports

In all fairness, he did get the ball before the man...

What a massive cunt.

Would love to see us sign Jozy Altidore by the way. Almost certainly wont happen though.

Are they any better than the toon? or is it a fair swap? I've got a astro glass from when mrs khay was over. Funny you should say that she was talking me through their recent history last night and judging by their over spending and poor choice in players and under achievement it seems the Astros are the baseball equivalent of Newcastle lol Chicago Cubs are the baseball NUFC. No trophy for 102 years, no appearance in the world series since 1945. Youre both wrong! The baseball equivalent of NUFC are definitely the New York Mets, at least going on the last few years. It hasnt been easy supporting both of these teams. The good thing is though, is that just as Newcastle's season is wrapping up, baseball season starts!

Yes but some people still seem to have a problem with it. We had a dressing room full of egos and wages that were way too high for the results we were getting. I know it's easy to have a pop at Ashley but this policy is clearly an improvement on the latter years of the Shepherd era. Arsenal, ManU, Barcelona constantly have good young players coming through who they either keep hold of or sell on for a profit. I don't think we did it enough. As I say, it remains to be seen what happens but I think it's the right approach for where we are and where we'd got to. I have a bad feeling this is about to turn into a Leazes thread

Anyone on here follow baseball at all? Im from New York, and I'm a huge Mets fan, so I was just wondering if there was anyone else on here to followed baseball!
-
Agreed. Either way, I think we should be after Lionel Messi. Anything below that, and I'll consider the offseason to be a complete and total failure

I got that in the second part, but I thought the first part was semi-serious. Either way, my opinion still stands. Looking at players 26 and under is a fairly good model for building a team in the long run. I think you still need to bring in older, more experienced players, but investing in young players is a good idea, just look at Arsenal.

Whats this about a New York tour?! I live there! I've never seen Newcastle play in person before, so this would be a dream come true http://www.sundaysun.co.uk/sport/newcastle...79310-26171000/ Red Bulls world series of football in Jersey haha, Jersey is SUCH a shithole

Ahh, really hope that goes through then. Regardless, I'm probably going to try and get over in February of 2011 to see a game or two.

I agree that to an extent, its a sound model. I just don't like how they have the bit in about the players having "potential sell-on value". It makes me feel as all purchases are going to be shipped out if we get a bid higher than what we bought them for.

Also, Shearer just took the Tottenham job in my game, and is managing Everton in my main save.
-
You can manage an International team AND a club team in this game, so accept it! Like, right now Im managing Newcastle and the England U21s. In my main save, Ive managed Brazil, Ivory Coast, Sweden, USA, and England, all while staying at Newcastle.

I imagine Barton will be among the subs

Id like to see Hughton drop Best, play Nolan as an AMC behind Carroll, and then have Barton in midfield alongside Guthrie
