Done with season 1! Ended 9th, almost snuck 7th but was never really going to happen, and Europe probably wouldve been too much strain on my squad. These are my transfers so far: In: Marco Verratti (2 mil) Jack Wilshere (Loan fee, 825k) Victor Anichebe (Free) Felipe Mattioni (6 mil) Out: None I've been trying to ship on Perch, Smith, Best, and Williamson, but apparently theyre all too shite for the other teams. Oh, and Coloccini finished the first season with 4 reds.

Here are the stats: Coloccini: 3 reds, 3 yellows, 17 appearances Tiote: 2 reds, 3 yellows, 13 appearances STaylor: 2 reds, 2 yellows, 13 appearances Vuckic, Carroll, Simpson, Williamson, and Ben Arfa all have one red. Totally unrealistic that, I've also been given 8 penalties on the year, which is also quite a bit. Granted I've only converted 4 of the 8, but for that I blame Shola

Been playing Vuckic up front with Carroll, been doing meh. Have had some awful awful results, lost 6-1 to Spurs, 5-1 to Wolves, and a few others, but some how manage to float around 12th-15th. Yeah this is what leads to the rest of the problems with a lot of players... it also massively impares your performance as an athlete especially if abused over several years. I'm not saying all footballers should be saints, or that indeed many are... however i'm sure the likes of usain Bolt aren't pissed half of the time. Its not really stupid to write someone off at 21... history would show that most players who are in and out of trouble and enjoy a boozy trouble strewed lifestyle dont go on to become top top players. Yeah people can reform their characters, but usually they are the ones who weren't so off the rails to begin with. Yeah Barton may have turned it round a lot but he missed out on a lot of football and his development has suffered... are you telling me he is the player he could have been? What do i know about Carrolls personality? Well I dont know the guy but its clear to see he's hardly a shrinking violet... there's a reason he's in the papers and court and its not some sort of journalisitc vendetta against him. 3 assualts, booze and coke fuelled parties... regardless of whether he's dabbled in drugs is irrelevant... trouble follows the lad... this isn't the behaviour of a professional athlete, its the behaviour of someone who thinks he's made it already, and that my freidn spells trouble ahead. A call up to the England squad now would just further fuel his own self worth and ego... it certainly wouldnt do him any favours thats for sure!

Its stupid to write someone off when theyre only 21. Apparently when Giggs and Lee Sharpe were younger, they were both getting a little wild, not to the extent of Carroll by any means, but Ferguson went and had a talk with them. Giggs adapted and became who he is, Sharpe basically faded. It is possible to turn it around, and wor Joey seems to be an example of that. Furthermore, what the fuck do you know about his personality? I assume youre basing this revelation of yours purely on the stuff read in the news and seeing Carroll on the pitch and in interviews. You have no insight into how his mind works that should lead you to this conclusion. And I'd rather have Carroll doing what he is than going about like Stephen Ireland being a twat of the first order.

It would also be nice to see Carroll doing more from outside the box. Not that I'm loving how he's playing, but most of his goals seem to come from headers or knockdowns from corners inside the box, would be nice to see him take a shot from distance on occasion.

He probably will start to in the coming year. He was mediocre the first season, and last season was in the Championship, so its understandable he wasn't getting in the Spain squad. But now that he's in the prem and playing well he'll surely get a look in given Spain's shortage at left back. Didn't they have Capdevila playing there?
