Kuyt - "Playing for the Toon would be my Dream"
GafferTape replied to smoggeordie's topic in Newcastle Forum
Perhaps it's do with us not having any money to spend? Chronicle did say a couple of days back that we'll have to sell before we buy, so i dont see how we can go in for him (especially if his price is in the 10mil+ range) before we raise finances. Looks pretty simple to me tbh. -
They should start a website like.
-
Haven't seen much of him, but not sure how he's going to work with Fabregas.
-
Relegation or not, why would they sell any of their players for a pittance ? They are under investigation for match fixing, not going out of business. 139534 Im sure nedved, ibrahimovic, viera etc. would love to be playing in Serie C every week. There best players will be off like a shot. There will be some sort of fine, there finances will be thoroughly expected and juve will be taking any money they can get for their best players! 139550 And clearly, we're the only team that would be interested, and would be able to get Zlatan for 1mil. If they do go down, they'll all go to decent clubs for decent money.
-
I'll take Zlatan, Nedved, Viera, Emerson and Thuram please. Then throw in a sneaky bid for Ronaldinho and we're sorted.

Liverpool have been looking at him for ages as well haven't they? And it seems that they're finally of thinking of actually getting someone decent in, so think he may end up there instead. Going on his reputation alone, I'd have him more than a couple of times on channel5, but haven't actually seen him play to be honest. -
Why would they?
-
Used to rate him very highly a couple of years back, still think he's a quality player, but I'm not sure whether he work with Owen. To me, it seems like maybe the Sun were short on stories so just picked out a plausible connection from his past.
-
Aye, for his record at Newcastle, he's got the best win/game ratio of any manager since the start of the Premiership, and probably earlier. Fact.
-
The season when he got West Ham to 7th, didn't they have a really bad start, with fans calling for him to be sacked but then he turned it round to finish in 7th place? I'm pretty sure he did.
-
One trick seal like..
-
The main priority will be ... and to ensure Michael Owen remains at the club. What's this then? Didn't Cheeky Mickey Owen came out saying that he's staying here next season for definite a week or so ago?
-
Indeed. - appropriate?
-
No chance are that many players leaving. Every summer they're talking of a clearout and nothing happens. Wouldn't make sense to get rid of Bramble or Moore. I'd keep Bowyer now as well, despite my hatred towards him, we can't afford to get rid of the squad players. They haven't mentioned Faye either, I'd have thought that'd be quite high up the 'to exit' lists like.. I'm looking forward to the inevitable Harper to leave stories and kiddas saying that he's a class keeper.

Official Match Thread - Alan SHEARER Testimonial

Shearer statue. Woop. -
Bramble scoring a volley?
-
Two right backs and three central defenders in that Chelsea team.
-
Surely we have more serious problems in other positions than right-back? Carr can do a decent job I think, presuming he's fit. Rather get a left-back and a centre-half if/when Boumsong leaves.
-
Yep, why is the crest plastic? Is there precedent [sp] for this sort of lark then? I'll start the auction at £7,500 then.
-
That was my understanding also. I'm pretty sure Corinthians signed Tevez after the Abramovich network took them over, as it was a rather high fee by South American transfer standards, as well as the unusual move to Brazil from Argentina, when people thought Tevez would have already been in Europe by now, like for example Robinho.

If only Titus could put away that one on one he had with the keeper, Roeder would have been granted Geordie Messiah status. Hope Titus can live with that.
-
Apparently, according to Betfair rules, the payout will still be on Roeder rather than Craig.
-
I guess I'm in the minority here, but I actually quite like Roeder, and won't be dissapointed seeing him in charge next season. At the end of the day, no top class managers are particularly interested. Le Guen wanted CL football, O'Neill wouldn't take the shit from our board, Hitzfeld wants the Germany job and I doubt was ever seriously interested, if at all. So realistically, if I had to choose between Roeder, Allardyce, Curbishley et al, I'd happily take Roeder. While Souness was a proven c-word before his appointment, and appointment which i opposed from day one, I'm prepared to give Roeder a chance. He's calm, rational and intelligent. Everything Souness isn't. There's also something about the soopa-fans already calling for his sacking that makes him even more of an attractive candidate for me. Those kiddas will be back on the wagon after one win.
-
O'Leary here?
-
Can't believe Titus done that. Had Zoggy or Solano in support as well.
