  1. Personally didn't think Bramble was that bad, apart from going in for the header for their second goal and the early challenge on Anelka in the first five minutes.
  2. Without any additions to this squad, we'll be very close to going down. There's not that many other teams in the league that struggle to score goals as badly as we do.
  3. TopToon, shouldn't you be posting over at Newcastle Online instead?
  4. Leaning towards line of thought to be honest. Although he had my full backing during the summer.
  5. Also, first sub-50,000 league attendance for how long? Certainly didn't happen last season.
  6. The return of the prodigal son inches closer.
  7. I'm trying to see which of those is a decent one, the Caifu feed seemed to be ok.
  8. There are a lot of video feeds for this game.
  9. I'd rather he went to a casino during the week rather than the weekend, when you know, most football games are actually played. Done nowt wrong there as far as i'm concerned.
  10. Moore rested? So it's Ramage - Taylor - Bramble - Carr in defense? Oh lordy.
  11. Yay! It's like Championship Manager, but backwards. Or something.
  12. Apparently he's just training with us to keep fit. He's got an offer from a third division italian side though. N-O tastic.
  13. Possibly, according to .com - Czech bounces back into Toon! Spotted in the Tyneside area this week has been former 'keeper Pavel Srnicek, who is believed to be currently under consideration for a short-term deal with his old side. Now 38, Czech -born Pav made 181 appearances for us between 1990 and 1998, including 97 in the Premiership. Always a popular figure at SJP, the former soldier returned briefly to his former club Banik Ostrava, before making a comeback in England with Sheffield Wednesday. He then moved to Italy and enjoyed a three-year stay at Brescia before he found his way back to the Premiership in 2003 with Portsmouth and then West Ham -although his move to the latter was in February 2004, some months after Glenn Roeder had departed. A trial with Coventry City then came to nothing before Srnicek was taken on by Portuguese side Beira Mar, leaving there in May 2006.
  14. That's possibly the most OBVIOUS THING ABOUT ANYTHING IN THE WORLD. EVER.
  15. Because Shearer would rather work with Geordie legend Lee Clark.
  16. Missed out a trick by not going for the "Another Roed to nowhere season" headline tbh.
  17. Harper Carr Moore Ramage Babayaro Milner Parker Emre Duff if fit - N'Zogbia if not. Sibierski Martins Subs: Luque Krul Huntington / Taylor Butt N'Zogbia Pattison Bernard
  18. So Ronaldo against Ramage / Bernard? Easiest ever game plan for Man united.
  19. Presumably he took Ameobi off to help his hip, as we're not going to win this one. Alhough i'm on a 3 minute feed delay, so we could be 3-2 up by now..
  20. Worst hint ever tbh, with the "Bond likely to quit" headline like.
  21. When was that then? The only time that I remember getting a run of games is when Gullit was in charge and preferred him after Given had an injury, I think. Given's been our number since the day Dalglish signed him, apart from that short spell under Gullit. Regarding Harper being a better commander of the box? If Given struggles to command the penalty box, Harper struggles to get the 6yard box in order. Really not looking forward to the next 6 weeks or whatever it'll be.
  22. Bowyer bundles into Gabbidon with the ball about 25 yards from their goal, Martins picks up the loose ball, takes it forward about 10 yards and puts it into the bottom left corner while one-on-one with the keeper. And then runs to celebrate infront of the West Ham fans.
  23. Given - 5 - didn't have much to do, his distribution was really poor though. Baba - 5- Didn't overlap, again his distribution was all over the place. Wasn't really tested by their wide players. Ramage - 7 - First time he's actually impressed me, probably not a coincidence that it was in his favoured position. Some very good interceptions in the first half, and tried to lead the line as well. Moore - 7- Solid and didn't do much wrong apart from a couple of aim-less long balls. Carr - 6 - Looks slow and unfit, but an excellent clearance when he had to come across to the middle to cover. Milner & Duff - 7 - Both worked hard, although Duff was a bit too quiet at times. I'd have put N'Zogbia on with 20 to go. Neither seemed to be able to beat their man though. A lot of going down the wing, checking back and crossing from a deep position. Parker - 7 - a bit too aggresive, lucky to stay on the pitch, but apart from that his contribution defensively was excellent. Emre - 6 - important in the second goal build up, but drifted out of the game for periods, especially in the first half, where I thought he was poor. Picked up in the second half though - as did the whole team really. Ameobi - 6 - worked hard, but don't see evidence of a good partnership with Martins. Martins - 7 - Some decent link-play, especially in the second half where he came to life quite a bit. Should have scored in the first half, the angle didn't seem half as bad on the telly as it did at the time. Failed to get into the box a couple of times when we were breaking quickly in the first half.
