He canvassed the fans at away games.

The fans wanted Dennis Wise et al to come in and undermine KK I take it? That's a new one. He knew he would be working with a DOF.
-
The thing that gets me is that toon fans want the new owners to make the same mistake. What happens if they have a falling out? Its never ending. The biggest mistake Ashley made was listening to the fans.
-
Now you've stopped making sense. .....hard work.

No we didnt. We have upgraded our midfield (which was needed) but decimated our attack. If you sell 80 million worth of players and buy 70 million why would you think that the team should improve? You need to get your head round that concept. You are defending you actions by referencing your net spend. At the end of the day the blame lies with Tottenham, don't sell a player if you can't replace them. If your midfield is so strong, then why can't they help the £30m + strike force score? Players take time to bed in Tom.

Well not really - there aren't any West Ham or Chelsea fans on here defending that kind of chant. The Spuds chant was not that kind of chant. It was specifically aimed at an individual (and crafted to "get at" that individual) exactly. Toms still struggling with the concept of net spend and average attendance tbh. It doesnt surprise me he is struggling with this. Possibly because you twist statistics to match your arguement. Regarding Attendance : You regard % of ground filled as a more important factor in determining a good attendance. This is retarded and it's really not how it works. Net Spend : I understand Net Spent and I couldn't care less about it about 75% of your income from player sales came from 2 players - you have spent £70m on building a first 11 and it isn't working very well is it? Racist Chanting : Whether targeted at an Individual or a group I think the concept remains the same and it has no place in football in my opinion. Which ones Danny_B? I was refering to average attendance not % filled. Net spend: Still struggling with the concept of selling two of our best players and our complete strike force arent you. the chants arent r@cist. The Adebayor could be construed as Xenophobic but even then at a stretch.

If you compare the close to the mark songs we have, compared to West Hams "I would rather be a P than a J" and Chelseas beautifully crafted hissing. I think we are looking at the wrong set of fans dont you?

Given I've pulled him up on stuff before I fail to see how I'm a hypocrite. Thats OK then.
-
The ultimate hypocrisy seeing as you have Stevie in your ranks?
-
Glad you've finally got your head round it.

We dont have any.

All I know is that we are one of the most multi cultural set of fans there is. We dont have a problem with racism unlike other London teams (Spammers and Chelsea). If you are going to pick apart every football chant I am sure you will find lots of slightly unsavoury things, its the nature of the beast. Honestly, I really cant stand the sterilised direction in which football is heading. Over analysing every kick in every game every word spoken by a manager and every chant by the fans. Overkill.

you really need to get over the lynching thing. the song relates to his personal problems not about him being lynched. That is a massive jump and an unfair one in my opinion. I know it isnt a nice song but people are reading too much into it.

I think it important to distinguish between Xenophobia and r@cism at this juncture. Actually no I dont. Who cares. Its terrace banter. It is part of the game, always has been always will be.

FACT. I just did a quick check and one account of Judas' death has him hanging himself. No mention of a tree either. Well you will have to take our word that it is not. No one knows how Judas died because it happened 2000 years ago. The bible talks of him "hanging" the assumption that it was from a tree is a fair one.

FACT.

Its fair enough, if you signal that is your intention all along. There were some interesting quotes from Sol himself read out on TS last night that he made before he left. He said he would never go there because he knew what would happen with the fans. Also there was an offer on the table from Madrid that the club could have accepted but he gave the impression he was going to sign. There has never been a case as bad as this and I doubt there ever will again.

It is a reference to the way Judas took his own life after the betrayal of Christ. No place for r@cism in football.

We have a winner, AP

No offence but the best you lot have churned out is Ant and Dec and aufedersein pet. Hull has better "craic" than the toon. I see your Auf Wiedersehen and raise you an "Up the Elephant and round the Castle" We are win. Only fools.....the trump card I see your Only Fools and its an impressive hand I give you that but its undone by Brush Strokes. Please tell me two pints of lager is froom your neck of the woods...
