  1. Question has to be asked in my opinion. I'm not saying its definitely going to happen but KK position will be all powerful if he returns. It will definitely be a case of one man being bigger than the football club.
  2. They will, thanks to Mike Ashley and his "cockney mafia"
  3. in fact it took a 45m injection from Mort to ensure you didnt go to the wall.
  4. What he was saying was, the danger wasn't imminent (ie within a year) but it did say that if the situation got worse then it could happen. The situation certainly want making you any more attractive as a potential target and my point about not being able to get long term finance was clarified in there.
  5. I cant wait until he has a falling out with them. What happens then? New manager or new owners again? Either way, more upheaval.
  6. He has? Have you seen where we are now? And did you see where we were with Keegan? I think we could do with out being saved like this, and I'd really hate to see him actively try to destroy a club. At least you have got a rubbish club to watch. You may have had no club, or at the very least, one with -10 points. And you think this because? Let me guess, you read that Ashley said unless he came in the club would sink (a claim dismissed by the previous owners), yeah, because everything MA said was true wasn't it I remember looking at your accounts a few years back under Shepherd. You gearing was terminal and you were carrying a mountainous overdraft that could have been called in at any time. Anybody who knows about finance knows that debt should be manageable and structured. Having a Overdraft at 17% rather than a loan at 5% tells me that the markets were no longer willing to lend to NUFC as a long term concern. I doubt many of you understand the above but in short it was a recipe for disaster. There is a thread on Newcastle-online called 'Shepherds Legacy'. Read the analysis of the accounts then come back and explain how we were about to do a Leeds. Link?
  7. The south africans already have a bid on the table.

I think we could do with out being saved like this, and I'd really hate to see him actively try to destroy a club. At least you have got a rubbish club to watch. You may have had no club, or at the very least, one with -10 points. Why? The club was in a position of having overextended a bit, not about to go bankrupt, a bit of belt tightening would have done the same job, just taken longer. Ashley coming in seemed like a saviour, without a doubt, but he's managed to do as much or more damage to the club in a season as FFS, Feckless Hall and a totally not interested John Hall did in a decade. Even now I don't fully understand how he's managed it. By putting you in a position that someone with real money was willing to spend real money on you? Sounds like you are sitting pretty to me.

  11. That vs a Leeds scenario. Yes saved you, FACT.
  12. You made the point you No that was an add on to the main point which is Ashley has improved your position as a club.
  13. either way we are picking round the point rather than taking on the big issue. Why is Ashley hated by toon fans (apart from the fact he fell out with KK) He has saved you.
  14. - They all play(ed) for Spurs ? ??? One is a property developer with millions, One owns Debenhams, the other own a sporting goods empire and some tinpot football club oop north somewhere.
  15. Away for the family stuff he is still hated when the club now is ina much more atttractive state than when he took over.
  16. Ashley said in a statement his family had received threats. Did he? Where was that then? http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&r...reats&meta=
  17. Maybe Ashley was concerned that after he had paid down NUFCs mountain of debt for them, his manager was intent on racking it back up. Maybe KK just displayed a massive lack of realism. Do you think Keegan was correct to have concerns about the size of the squad and its depth? Or do you think Wise and co.'s transfer policy has been vindicated in any way? I think a big influx of young bright players like we did when we started rebuilding would have been the ticket. established stars cost a packet, I dont think MA was willing to pay that so Wise was out scouting for talent. Doesn't really answer my question. I think the policy of getting rid of the wage heavy older players and buying in of young bright talent, would sting short term, benefit the club long term. They haven't even done that though. They tried to, thats why KK walked. Barton out, Owen out, Smith out and Milner out. All earning more money than they are worth.

  20. The similarities are striking Both bought aclubs with massive debt and paid that debt down. Both bought clubs that had no other interest in them at the time. Both parted ways with popular managers in their tenure. Both (eventually) will sell on a more attractive package to a third party. Both clubs will be better off than when they joined. You could have gone to the wall waiting for a shiek or consortium to come along. Ashley bridging that gap could have saved your club. Fat lot of good it has done him. Thaksin gets treated like a King, Ashley has members of his family threatened.

  22. I dont think anybody knows who KK really asked for. Plus wages have to be a consideration when your top earner is bleeding the coffers dry.

  24. The fans wanted Dennis Wise et al to come in and undermine KK I take it? That's a new one. He knew he would be working with a DOF. Wise was never described as that until after the blow up, he was supposedly there to oversee youth development/recruitment, not to try to hawk Owen to the highest bidder. I can't imagine Keegan (or anyone else) having a problem with the original description of Wise's job - however conversely I cannot see many (if any) managers not having a problem with the end result of Wise's job (especially when added to Lambrusco whose only qualifications seem to be Grade 1 smirking). His official title has always been, director in charge of football.
  25. The fans wanted Dennis Wise et al to come in and undermine KK I take it? That's a new one. He knew he would be working with a DOF. Was that the fans' choice as well? Otherwise I don't see your point. My point is, he should have appointed a manager used to the continental structure rather than a dinosaur that would make him popular with the fans. The new lot are going to do it all over again.
