  1. JOE KINNEAR is backing Shola Ameobi to go and be the next John Fashanu. And the Newcastle United interim manager has been so impressed at his 26-year-old striker that he plans to work with him on a one-to-one basis during the fortnight’s break for international duty. Kinnear told me on Friday night that he intended to use Ameobi in his starting line-up at Everton, but in the end the former England Under-21 international had to be content with a place on the substitutes bench. When he did get on Ameobi nearly set up the winner for Charles N’Zogbia but Leighton Baines cleared off the goal-line. But Kinnear clearly rates Ameobi more than £5m deadline-day signing Xisco. Ameobi has been teased by his United colleagues after hearing Kinnear call him the new John Fashanu in training and has revelled in his new name of Fash The Bash. But Kinnear is quite serious when he says: “I think Shola has a lot to offer. I don’t think he’s the finished article, but he’s a powerful lad, and is willing to work. “I’m going to work one-to-one with him most afternoons, and he could be a John Fashanu.” Ameobi’s tally of 46 goals is more than any other player on the club’s staff, but he has not found the net for exactly two seasons since he scored from the penalty spot in the home defeat by Sam Allardyce’s Bolton. But boosted by encouragement from Kinnear Ameobi twice went close in his 15 minutes on the field yesterday. Ameobi to save the Toon?
  2. He palmed it right in to his path. HF so. So in terms of keeping the ball out of the net it seems Gomes has done a better job than Given over the last 7 games. He mustn't be shite after all then, and he must be better than Given. Stevie, why did you remove the NUFC tinted glasses from your sig? No questions. OK, just thought they may be appropriate in this thread.

  4. He palmed it right in to his path. HF so. Im not sure he had much choice in the whole matter.
  5. How was Owens goal Gomes' fault?
  6. Eh? Gomes has been our best signing over the summer. Barring one slip against Villa he has been faultless. Compared to Blobbo the man is awesome. Comands his area well. Fair enough he has a tendancy to punch but he gets enough on it to clear it out. The press have a bee in their bonnet about him because he's Brazilian and not conventional. He is head and shoulders above Robinson. As for Harper. Good one.
  7. most boring poster ever?
  8. He is probably the second best keeper this country has. Sad state of affairs.
  9. I think everybody needs to take a step back and relax. We are both in a fight, potentially against each other, but for every thread to degenerate into bitter sniping is not on. Think of the admin for gods sake.
  10. The messageboard equivilent of sticking your tongue in your bottom lip and going "duh". There is no rational, sensible repost. Congratulations Sammy. You win. King of the cyber warriors.
  11. Yeah it wasnt funny first time round but you got your rise. Congratulations, you can go back to bed now.
  12. No, but an average of 9 posts per day, I would. not really. That's three for me today already. In between a hectic work schedule. Multi-tasking innit.
  13. I would hardly call 3 posts in the last 2 days "living" on here.
  14. Given I've pulled him up on stuff before I fail to see how I'm a hypocrite. Pulled up for fuck sake pulled up pmsl...aye and been told to pipe down and no mistake. i really resent siding with stevie on anything but alex comes across as a right charmless cunt. I thought the fish was the king of self important wankyness until alex posted his views in here.

  18. I thought the victim complex was confined to the north west, it must be catching.
  19. I found it amazing how we kept on losing out on players like Parker and Duff to you lot due to the massive wages you offered. That prompted my interest. Perfectly valid imo.
  20. - They all play(ed) for Spurs ? ??? One is a property developer with millions, One owns Debenhams, the other own a sporting goods empire and some tinpot football club oop north somewhere. Thats a crap answer to be honest Its not the answer you idiot its a clue.
  21. He has? Have you seen where we are now? And did you see where we were with Keegan? I think we could do with out being saved like this, and I'd really hate to see him actively try to destroy a club. At least you have got a rubbish club to watch. You may have had no club, or at the very least, one with -10 points. And you think this because? Let me guess, you read that Ashley said unless he came in the club would sink (a claim dismissed by the previous owners), yeah, because everything MA said was true wasn't it I remember looking at your accounts a few years back under Shepherd. You gearing was terminal and you were carrying a mountainous overdraft that could have been called in at any time. Anybody who knows about finance knows that debt should be manageable and structured. Having a Overdraft at 17% rather than a loan at 5% tells me that the markets were no longer willing to lend to NUFC as a long term concern. I doubt many of you understand the above but in short it was a recipe for disaster. Wow.. you are sad, aren't you? because I spend my time furthering my knowledge?
