I was looking at getting a curve but the lack of 3G is what put me off. I never download music files or anything like that, and viewing a web page isnt too bad. Its a work phone really and I already have an ipod touch, so its not a problem for me.

Right anybody who is thinking of getting the G1 dont. The G2 has just been released and will be available soon. I am currently sporting the blackberry curve 8900. Its got the GPS and the wifi, the only issue is that it is GPRS rather than 3G so that surfing outside of a wifi area is a touch slow. I would still recommend it though.
