For someone who spawns from a town who thinks gormet dining is a Greggs and a pint of Broon I find this kind of hard to take. The score is simple, if you want to drink before the game, go to HH, if not dont.

He only said you didn't know London. And you did recommend a Weatherspoons pub tbf. 2+2=4 tbh. And no, I'm not coming down for the game. He called me a plastic cockney, you sure you can read? You're just gutted I know London better than you. The fact your boozer probably doesnt open until an hour before kick off suggests you don't.

In enough time to sink 3 pints before going to the match. Clearly never drank with a geordie. 3 pints, is that all? clearly never drunk with a y!d bet you mate get down there and its closed. No, they all drink in souless sh!tholes like the Hamilton Hall. Well I tell you what, you go and enjoy the ambience waiting outside your little pub in shoreditch (ST) and I will enjoy a few pints with a bunch of like minded football supporters. Enjoy the tapas.

Loads of good boozers around there, plus you are right next to Shoreditch also. The Water Poet and the Commercial Tavern are both within 5 mins walk of Liverpool St and the aforementioned Golden Heart is also good. Hamilton Hall is awful. To be fair to Danny, it does open early but you get a strange crowd in there. Its a football boozer mate, what do you expect? T0ssers like you tbh. Am not going to be a Stevie substitute, so thats the last of it. Shown up trying to be clever TBH.

What time is kick off Chez? Now think where hes got to get to. Now think again, is your suggestion a good idea. You can tell doesn't know football. It's 5 mins walk from the pub you recommended according to that site. The point is HH opens early on match days so you can have a few pints before kick off, most pubs in shoreditch wont open till twelve. Hardly condusive to pre match beers. No offence lads but I do this every week. Trying to give the fella a hand and all you get is abuse. Probably from those who havent been to away game in all their days by the sound of things. Its a weatherspoons, its football what more do you want? Like what? That chez idiot. Clueless. Where did he abuse you like? Honestly Alex can you not read? Yes. Can't you answer Daniel? Where he calls me a plastic cockney, I take offence to cockney let alone a plastic one. You coming down for the game?

But it does, that's what our cocknee sparra can't quite get How is that different to Sunderland or Boro? If boro sell out (they used to), thats like 1 in 3 of the population attending. Would you call that special? Would be nice to get an answer on this. Boro don't sell out and even if they did it wouldn't represent 1 in 3 of the population. Will that do? Population of Boro: 135K.

I have already answered that earlier in the thread.

You can't fall off the lower tier mate. New safe terracing prevents surging but someone could still take a tumble. Only on bottom tiers IMO.

http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/21/...iverpool_Street Is in Liverpool street mate. Usual Wetherspoons fayre but usually has a good atmosphere on a match day and opens early doors.

National Express East Anglia Due to engineering works, there will be replacement buses between Stansted Airport/Bishops Stortford and Waltham Cross, and between Hertford East and Enfield Town until approx 13.00. Therefore before the game there will only be a limited service to Northumberland Park from the North. Passengers from London should travel via White Hart Lane. After the game, all services via Northumberland Park will be eight carriages for approximately two hours. Services to/from White Hart Lane will run to an improved frequency and will be formed by eight carriages approximately three hours before and two hours after the game. If you would like to contact National Express, please call 0845 600 7245 or write to National Express, Customer Relations, Grosvenor House, 112-114 Prince of Wales Road, Norwich, NR1 1NS. Victoria Line The entire Victoria Line will be closed on Sunday, April 19 as London Underground continues their full upgrade of the line as part of a multi-billion pound investment programme. Fans attending our home match that day are encouraged to travel by tube or train to Liverpool Street and catch the frequent National Express services from there to White Hart Lane. Please note, London Underground tickets will be accepted on National Express services between Liverpool Street to Seven Sisters or Tottenham Hale only, therefore fans travelling any further than this (i.e. White Hart Lane and Northumberland Park) will require a valid National Express ticket. Alternatively, fans can interchange from the Piccadilly Line at Finsbury Park or Manor House rather than in Central London, and use the Rail Replacement Bus Service to Seven Sisters station. Although more buses will be operating on this match day than normal this will be a limited service, so fans are encouraged to use National Express services were possible. This Rail Replacement Bus Service will operate a northbound service from Bus Stop R at Finsbury Park station or Bus Stop D at Manor House station, and a southbound service from Bus Stop A at Seven Sisters station.

Bit plastic isn't it? Reasoning your love for the club solely on it's "achievements". That's what makes Newcastle fans special you see. We don't do that. We can't. You still don't get it do you? Every fan has a love for their club. Let me get back to Barnet, what have they won? Are their fans special? Would you consider their experiance magical? No but they would. Are you starting get it yet?
-
Don't confuse my concise style with any kind of emotion. Anyone who knows me will tell you I have a smile on my face 99% of the time.
-
"Its such a magical experiance" "Like no other city on earth" "The home of football" "Were more passionate than other fans" If you can't tell the difference between that and stating a clubs achievements, there is no hope for you.

Platinum. Is Danny B a comedy Spurs alter ego of a board regular? What I am saying is that we have done all that but going to watch Spurs is exactly the same as going to watch any other club. You love it because its your club. NUFC isn't special, neither is Spurs, neither is Man Utd, neither is Barnet. Its only sky sports that are trying to convince us that it is. That's why we all frequent a Newcastle board. I'd not presume to visit another clubs forum and spout on about why we're special. Yet here you are, telling us why Spurs is special. There's no Man U or Barnet equivalent to you on here. No-one's interested. I bet you'd go to other peoples houses at christmas and tell them how shite the presents are and how your folks are much more generous. I didn't expect you to get it. New fan TBF.

Today is not the day for recriminations on either side in this IMO. Just a time for remembrance. Anybody who was around football in the eightees will remember the surges on the terraces, that for me was all part of the fun. You could get swept along for 20-30 mtrs on the old shelf @ WHL when we scored, the aim of the game just to stay on your feet. That day changed everything for me, every surge accompanied by a hint of concern, every large crowd holding a hint of menace. About 6-7 years ago I went to a pre season friendly @ fratton Park when Pompey were in the second tier, which was sold out in the away end. Me and few mates went down there because it was pay on the door. The ticket booths were in a tunnel at the front of Fratton and they had completely underestimated the demand. A real crush ensued and they had to open the gate at the end to let people out. It was proper scary. I am a big supporter of the stand up sit down campaign, terraces were never really the problem, penning people in like animals was. However the behaviour of some fans back then, warranted it. I think trying to look for one factor (or group of people) to blame is foolish anyway because it was a lot more complex than that. RIP the 96.
