music criticism is effectively dead. because nowadays bar a critic like Piero Scaruffi or Mark Pringle, who still review entirely in a subjective sense, they all have the same opinions because everyone aims to be objective to some degree rather than just saying what they really think which really kills the point of criticism (which is my opinion, is a qualified and intelligent analysis of why someone likes or dislikes something hence objectivity destroys this). oh well.

Animal Collective - Water Curses EP seriously metacritic is as bad. but animal collective. my favourite modern band. by a long way. that's not to say they don't have some average stuff though. pocahaunted is awesome, if you like Fuck Buttons & Animal Collective , you'll love Pocahaunted. long, droney, rhythmic songs with tribal elements and wonderfully meaningless vocals.
