i went to both weekends of All Tommorow's Parties so I can't really afford any real summer festivals. wouldn't mind seeing rage though on Friday of Reading.

i'm not sure tarantino will be remembered as a great director - we'll see in twenty years. his films are incredible entertaining and interesting - but entirely on the most superficial levels - but this is carefully hidden by relentless gags, inventive (yet derivative although this isn't a valid criticism hence in brackets) set ups and strong dialogue. in other words. they're total kitsch. but I can't help but feel his films skirt, rather than explore, the most important human issues - love, survival, identity. that being said, his films are polar opposite style wise to my favourite directors and I still enjoy them so he must be doing something right.

Hope he's not another Gooch, Diatta etc. kk has got time to judge though. so he won't cost us anything if he's shit. and if he's the next sagna, unlikely, we'll get him on a free. easy.

Wanted was completely hideous. I don't think anyone can fathom how bad that film is untill they've experienced it. it wasn't entertaining or fun. it verged on sadism at times. had absolutely no redeeming qualities. was one giant Matrix rip off. it was utter tripe. I'll answer your question another time when I'm not as exhausted. but seriously, Wanted wasn't entertaining or fun.
