  1. We might be on a fourth time to... if the title race is over and relegation places settled, it could be that 4th and 5th is all that's left to play for, so the Everton match could also be on. Anyway, I think we'll get a draw today, but I'd probably predict victory if Defoe weren't playing
  2. Berbatov can be a lazy enigma at times, Torres is more lethal in front of goal and works his ass off to boot.
  3. Torres has been great and I think an argument could be made that his first season compared to Ronaldo's first season has been a much better. But to compare them this season is ludicrous, Ronaldo is quite clearly the best player in the league and world at the moment.
  4. Do they always put a game on the first May bank holiday? I can't seem to remember there ever being one previously?
  5. Owen just doesn't have the right kind of "song name", whereas as Martins goes perfectly with his song, as does Nicky Butt's. I'd rather we adapted Vieira's old song from his Gooner days for Habib Beye... Habib Beye, woahoh Habib Beye, woahoh He comes from Senegal He plays for Newcastle
  6. Anyone know much about this "New Drogba" we've supposedly been looking at in Ligue 1? Can't remember his name for life of me.
  7. On what basis? Martins wouldn't be playing and would probably leave, N'Zogbia would still be playing left-back and we'd have been playing in "not to get beat" mode for the last few games. I was at the Reading away match and comparing that to being there on Saturday is like chalk and cheese. I agree that no manager should really be sacked after just 20-odd games, but the fact is KK is back now and the football is pleasing the fans again and yielding results.
  8. I'd be happy with that. Point today and all three next week and we'll nearly be there.
  9. Either way, back to the original point, Keane and Berbatov are one of the top partnerships in the league so we'll have our hands full today. I remember when Bellamy and Shearer were in a similar vein of form, here's hoping our men up top can be as potent today.
  10. Ah come on lads, Giggs was on the left yesterday with Ronaldo on the right. Of course he pops up behind the strike force throughout the game, but that's because the boy's a freak of nature, plus it makes it doubly difficult for the full-backs to follow him in-field.
  11. Would you class Rooney and Ronaldo as a strike-partnership? Ronaldo has played the odd game up-front, but he's a winger. I'd say Man Utd's partnership is Rooney and Tevez if they were to put out their best team.
  12. I think Spurs are playing too well at home at the moment, they create chance after chance and have possibly the best partnership in the league up-front. However, we have to remember our players have been training this week with the confidence of a win, which hasn't happened for so long. So we don't know whazt version of us is going to turn up. I'm hoping Martins can carry on his streak, he's scored in every game against Spurs since he joined us.
  13. She's got slightly better since her first game...but it just doesn't sound right. MOTD just doesn't seem right without Linekar and Hansen too, they should be guaranteed every week. For all the love I have for Shearer, some of his punditry is questionable to say the least. The others aren't worth me wasting my time on.
  14. I'm annoyed with the Brum penalty as it could still have ramifications for us, but can you imagine the Bolton fans watching that!
  15. I still think we're right in it, but the last 1 1/2 games have given me more hope that we'll do enough. The best I think we can hope for is a point next week as Spurs are playing really well at home, but three points the week after against Reading and I think we'll be ok.
  16. I don't think it was so much letting Anelka go that's the problem as it was always going to be near impossible to keep him. But having no replacement lined-up was what I didn't understand. On the bright side, it's their problem, which could save us from the drop eventually, so long may their goal struggle continue
  17. Yeah, that was my reasoning behind Martin Petrov being in there, he's been a threat all season for them and sorely missed while he's been out the last three games. Elano went off the boil for a bit and is now being shoved out wide by Sven.
  18. Would love to see Bolton's goal difference in the minus 20s come 10pm.
  19. I remember Kluivert caught a left-foot strike perfectly about 12 yards out....only to hit Crossley straight in the face. Summed up the game really.
  20. Was that the 4-1 game? Yet despite them scoring four, Crossley got man of the match?
  21. I agree with being over-run for the most part as I think that'd be the case against most teams. But factoring in that we're at home against Fulham I feel we have to take the game to them. I wouldn't be too unhappy if it was the same starting eleven though.
  22. I'm not sure when exactly, but the PFA player of the year awards will be coming up soon and the team of the year shortly after that I think. Up to today, who would you have in your team for this season? We'll use just the starting eleven and a 4-4-2 formation as a basis, while also picking your manager of the year. To add a little interest for us, pick your player of the season for us too. Mine would be as follows: James Sagna Lescott R.Ferdinand Clichy Ronaldo Gerrard Fabregas M.Petrov Adebayor Torres Manager of the Year : David Moyes Toon player of the Year: Habib Beye
  23. Owen will get the plaudits for scoring the equaliser and he should to an extent as he made it his over 3 brum defenders. However, Martins made the goal really, outjumping 6ft plus defenders to knock it down in the first place before the snapshot, which none of our other strikers posess. Taylor produced a good save from a similar shot and I think the team & formation should stick for Satruday, though maybe swap Zog for Geremi or Barton. You can see teams have to defend that little deeper against us with Martins on the pitch as they have to respect his pace, while most teams have realised Owen isn't as fast as he once was.
  24. Faye wasn't good last night, but to put him in the Bramble bracket is harsh. He will regain his form eventually, plus I always feel he's the most dangerous threat we've got at corners and set-pieces. I don't think any of our defenders would have handled McFadden last night to be honest, he looked a threat everytime they got him on the ball.
  25. Yeah, the more that cliche terms like "we can only look after ourselves" get banded about, the more i'm actually starting to believe them. The fulham game is pivotal, a win could see us have a decent end to the season, but defeat could be devastating as we, the coaching staff and the players know this is probably our most winnable game left.
