Newcastle Sign Fabricio Coloccini: Deportive Website States
adam_cann replied to Ketsbaia's topic in Newcastle Forum
anyone care to translate for us non-spanish speaking folk? -
any sighting's of colloccini? can the link be PM'd to me too. cheers
-
another toothless performance yes..... but we need a little perspective here. we were missing beye, faye, butt, n'zogbia, owen, martins, viduka, barton and gutierrez plus fingers crossed we'll be able to add coloccini to that list in the coming days. that's nine players that i think most of us would agree would be in our starting xi. i agree that it's a concern that we are playing so bad and the lack of chances highlights the need for the playmaker we are all craving. but should we put those nine players above in our team somehow, all fully fit, i'd imagine the result would be completely different as the end of the season run demonstrated. my main worry is that we seem to be ditching the 4-3-3 and going back to other systems that aren't working. lets see what happens with the next two friendlies as the likes of beye, martins and owen will likely feature and we are back at home. psv and valencia will be the best sides we've faced so far, so let's judge how we do in these games as the mach sharpness starts to return.

with all the criticism ashley get's at times, getting £6 mill for dyer was a stroke of genius
-
barton did start to play well towards the back end of the season. however, i'm guessing he's on the list for his off the field antics. should we wrap up the collocini deal, i'd like to see faye moved into midfield, with butt second choice.
-
no need for faye to be on that list
-
Who does everyone reckon will be the next superhero to be added to our ranks? any of them decent creative midfielder's?
-
someone will panic buy him on 31st august surely
-
speaking of which.....does anyone know when said contract is due to expire
-
Mark Stein out of retirement eh?
-
yeah fair point, but it was meant in the theme of the small slight-build players they have looked for and had success with.
-
which is why i said spurs would need an upgrade over zokora.....
-
Barcelona seem to do ok by Xavi, Iniesta, Messi, Bojan et.al and they also nurtured fabregas I'll me hacked off and jealous should spurs bring the said player's in, but they still look uncertain at the back and as mentioned previously could do with an upgrade over zokora in DM

Interesting what he says in regard to Mike Ashley too, plus setting the target of 4th-8th has whetted my appetite for the new season again.

Official Match thread: Doncaster Vs Newcastle United

well taken goal by the donny lad, but surely enrique was fouled beforehand? -
You have to give them credit, they have identified where they need improvement and are adding some good player's, should they add malbranque and diouf to what they already have. it's a damn sight more than we've been perceived to have done, although gutierrez and guthrie are unknown quantities in comparison. the scum will be more competitive than last season and i can't stand the thought of keane celebrating a victory over us.
-
yeah that's true i agree with that, but playing regularly for us i'd feel he'd benefit more and regain his confidence. either way, this is likely fabricated media shite and we'll end up this bassong guy from metz instead as he commands no fee.

If anything, the spotlight would be more intense on a mistake-prone centreback playing in a Keegan Newcastle back four. Arsenal play in the champion's league and top of the table clashes. senderos isn't their first choice so instantly he'd be under more pressure to perform when he's been drafted in to play those games. they are on tv more regularly, which can play on the mind of a player too, so the spotlight is undoubtedly more on arsenal than us presently
-
i really rated senderos when he first came on the scene, but then drogba dominated him in a charity shield game if i recall and as the article suggests, he's made mistakes in high-profile games ever since. maybe moving out of the spotlight at arsenal and playing regular games for us would do him some good.

I get this type of shit down here all the time, got a bet with a Spud fan for £250 that they'll finish in the top four. He really honestly think's they'll finish 3rd, so when i offered the top four finish he bit my hand off. one of the safest bet's i've ever placed i reckon. this is an opinion shared with three of four other's who insist we're delusional etc as per what the southern press say/dictate to them. bores me to tears at times.

Keegan could re-vitalise Milner and his value could rocket equally.....stranger things have happened.

ManUre on Red alert: Toon tell Owen to accept £30k a-week pay slash

yep, by a country mile, the 20 games he put together at the end of last season was the difference between a relegation battle and mid-table mediocrity -

owen isn't worth that, but why not get smith and ameobi off the wage bill before lowering owen's wages -
Putting a positive spin on it...a signing every week left of this window and we'll have a decent size squad again, should the current trend continue

Sky Sports breaking news.....we've signed Guthrie
