I mean what is it they expect Howe to say in reply? "Oh yes Brendan, the new owners absolutely have their hands covered in blood, they can deny all they want, but we know they are linked to the evil Saudi regime. I'm taking this job under extreme protest let me tell you...."

Brighton Rock Suckers v Jones who puts out the Cones
Alan Doh'liver replied to wykikitoon's topic in Newcastle Forum
Howe confirming he's delighted to have Jones as part of his coaching team, so that has been put to rest. Happy enough with that tbh, he seems like a genuinely well regarded coach. The Bacon Brothers Three are out or in the process of it, as long as they aren't here, I am happy enough to keep Jones. -
It's the perfect answer for Howe considering that his job is to be the football manager and the rest has very little to do with him.
-
Didn't hear it properly as the mics weren't that great, but sounded like Edwards is preparing to leave Liverpool. Howe when asked about it said he didn't know anything about it, but the timing would suggest he might be the one.

Would need to be a pretty big screen tbf.

Newcastle United: Club Sold To PCP - Official

Think Eddie showed us the way to handle this sort of stuff. Just talk about the football, the rest of it has got nothing to do with me, or something along those lines. -
They were talking about it all morning, then after 10 mins got bored and moved onto the cricket while the interview was still going on. I suppose will just have to watch the rest on Youtube.

Generic small time football blather thread FOREVER

Same, always felt like we never really wanted to give him a proper contract in case his knee went. We had some good players when he was here, but what a horrible club we were otherwise. -

That would be perfect. "You must look to buy homegrown players...but no one at home is going to sell you any so fuck off and get relegated like good little boys please..." -

PL would probably hope the Saudis would get fed up with Newcastle fans, sell up and buy Liverpool instead. -

I'll read it later, but I'll tell everyone now, it will make sod all difference to how I feel about the takeover. The country is already raking in blood money in so many ways, it's why SA are favoured trading partners. The sheikhs of Man City have made sure they are top of the tree, and the Russian gangster has got Chelsea going head to head with a nod and a wink from Poison pal Putin. We didn't ask for football to go this way, it's just the world we live in now. -
I was wondering that. There was that bloke who kept jumping in front of the players cars trying to get them to stop to sign autographs. He looked about 50, but might have been 25 tbf.

I saw someone mentioning yesterday that Nathan Ake would be a great loan signing as Howe knows all about him, and I thought, yeah like Chelsea are going to help us avoid relegation. -
Yeah fair play to the lad, there's another one got his own show called Roobenstein (I think), whether you like the stuff they put out will be subjective, but got to give them 10/10 for enthusiasm.

Aye but Eddie will have said "Nah man, the little beggar's got his camera recording, it's gonna end up on Youtube, better back up and give him a cuddle. Pass the hand sanitiser."

"Aah knaa some hard lads me Mandy, if yer want the Barclays manager chinned on Percy Street just let uz knaa..." 🤫 -
I watched it yesterday, I was thinking this is fucking stupid, but at the same time I couldn't take my eyes off it.

Read an interview from former Bournemouth player Simon Francis this morning, and he reckons the lads from there (Wilson and Ritchie) are buzzing that Howe is there. I also see Luke Baldwards has been tweeting an article about how this could turn out to be a great appointment, which makes his constant defence of Bruce over the last two years even more reprehensible.
-
I've already expressed my doubts about Shelvey being able to work a high press, but I think we have to basically give everyone a clean sheet and see what Howe's plans for this squad will be. For all we know, he might be able to get a tune out of Hendrick who was Mr Invisible under Brewcie. These are truly exciting times, I just cannit wait for Brentford.
-
Most of them do tbf, Shelvey looks like he's been asked to pick up dog turds all around the ground. The only one who looks remotely interested in running is Lewis.
-
His face looks better now that he's got his hair brushed back in a slightly less nerdish fashion. The hip factor goes up 30% to -25 now.

Brighton Rock Suckers v Jones who puts out the Cones
Alan Doh'liver replied to wykikitoon's topic in Newcastle Forum
Not really sure he was responsible for the turnaround tbh, we had a couple of good games, then back to usual. But he seems to be a well rated coach, even if he isn't manager material. I have a feeling he'll just be a spare part now though, Howe seems very particular about having specific people around him. -
It would be a lot easier to find a place for Shelvey in a Benitez side, we tended to sit quite deep, and that meant players who weren't the quickest were less exposed. Shelvey might cover a lot of ground, but he does it slowly. If Howe's going to play a pressing game, he's going to find it hard to get Shelvey on board. If you watch him, his tackles are always a second or two late, he just doesn't have the acceleration to get his foot in on time. On the ball he is class, just don't think he's cut out at all for a quick passing side.
-
Oh yeah, I can guarantee you most of them secretly think as northerners, we should be happy to watch muck and nettles football. It probably offends their sensibilities that we didn't have the good grace to accept Fat Sam and his prehistoric brand of football. It's the same mentality that is driving sarcy comments from the likes of Ollie Holt about murderous regimes. It must be killing them to know that all that money has found it's way up here instead of London or at least Manchester.

I always love it when these journos throw in a Stockport or a Hartlepool as the team they REALLY support, when you know fine well they probably never set foot in any of those stadiums. Most of the well known writers are just generic supporters of the big six, that's why the takeover has got them spewing out sour lemon tweets.
