  1. Kind of conflicted about this, if Jones keeps getting results, he's going to start thinking he's the man for the job.
  2. Could they not tick the box with someone who's less of a cunt? 😄
  3. Darlow keeping his place ahead of Dubs will come back to bite Jones on the arse as well. Actually it probably won't unless he drops a clanger today, he'll be replaced by the next game.
  4. You're not wrong there like. It's like they headhunted to biggest cunts with the least amount of football knowledge and put them on our screens with a V sign to all the viewers.
  5. Merson putting his bottle of frosty jack down to have his customary rant at Newcastle.
  6. Not a fan at all of Fraser starting. He's effective in the final third, but he's useless over the rest of the pitch. Would make a decent sub, but over the full game, surely you would get a lot more output from Almiron.
  7. Would a coke addict be bothered if his dealer was giving him a kilo a week on the house?
  8. Hmmm...maybe my roofer was onto something after all. 🤨
  9. You don't need to read an article pass those comments tbf. I don't know why he bothered trying to get sober, I doubt anyone could tell the difference.
  10. Hope he gets a majority share then loads the club with debt and moves all the cash assets to Czechoslovakia.
  11. I doubt very much our new owners are preparing to approach Rafa again. They could stick with Jones and see if Rafa gets sacked before January I suppose, but would be a pretty irresponsible approach tbh.
  12. Lascelles was playing really well at one stage under Rafa, although I don't think he'll be good enough to be in any trophy winning side. But it's still a good attitude to have to believe you are good enough. As opposed to wankers like Shelvey who are happy to coast along with gaffers like Bruce because they aren't arsed about winning anything.
  13. I doubt very much if Rafa would be prepared to go on gardening leave for a year in the hope that the takeover would go through. Not realistic to expect PIF to commit to that extent either considering the politics they were up against. Let's be honest, how many people on here actually thought the takeover was definitely going to happen?
  14. Third division club if you don't mind. NO nicked that off me before they got all precious about outdated terminology so I would like to claim it back.
  15. Ten Hag is another one high on their list. At this point I might be tempted to go for the ones who are willing to take the job now rather than the managers who keep us hanging around in case Man U come calling. We can always take Conte or whoever off them in a few years once we've established ourselves as the biggest club in Britain with our limitless dosh £££££
  16. Until we can get one of the really big names it sounds like.
  17. But you can't snatch a manager if he himself doesn't want to leave. I suppose Everton could still do the deal, and he'd come if that was the case, but really, given the choice I think he'd prefer to try and succeed on Merseyside. That's what I mean about taking us on the rebound.
  18. FWIW, I'm not big on bringing back Rafa at this point. Before he signed for Everton, he would definitely have been up there, but since he's always been harking to go back home to Merseyside, my impression is that other than Liverpool, he's probably where he wants to be right now. I don't really want NUFC to be anyone's rebound. I would prefer to go with a fresh start, and would like to get someone who has more of a reputation for attacking football. Conte, Pep, Poch and Klopp....the way they play the game excites me, I think we should be looking for someone who shares a similar philosophy.
  19. Fonseca is obviously just too much of an unknown quantity at this stage. If we were mid-table with a well balanced squad might well have been worth a punt, but they need someone who can come in and get points from the get go, Fonzy is more of a 'let's dream the dream!' option.
