Won the World Club Cup in December. Went out at the Group stage of the CL which I can't ever remember doing before, so was less than impressed. Anyway with mostly kids I won the league: UEFA Cup And the FA Cup

Just listening to the end of the Arsenal-Chelsea match and they cut to a reporter on the phone saying that Roeder is on the verge of being given the boot after a "hastily arranged" board meeting.

Just got round to seeing Fridays now. Great episode with a bit of a shit ending.

Beeb Newcastle are saying that there's a big group of fans hanging around chanting "Taxi for Roeder" amonst other things. There was a reporter o nthe phone and you could hear a bit of a racket in the background.

I never saw how people could get addicted to it. I just log in and read the bulletins, there's not that much to do on it apart from searching for people.

Think it would have been 96 too. 98 was when I saw people at school getting them. I remember the first PAYG phones needing to to top them up with atleast tenner a month for line rental then spend more just to be able to make calls and texts. My first phone was the Trium Geo.

I've noticed there's normally plenty of women about in the bars and pubs during the summer tournaments that wouldn't be there for qualifiers or club matches. I don't think they particularly like like football but they still go to watch.

Yep, thats what I was going to say. Don't think they'd sign a "big name" manager. Speed might take a role on the coaching team too.

Seriously though? I might, just might give it a go if that's the case. Though I won't forgive them for the intervening decade of AOR shite just yet. I'm not so sure now I've finished it. It starts off well and sounds like the older stuff but towards the end it's not the case. Might need a couple of listens. No real need for the working class hero cover at the end either.

Was right there in the title chase until the end of April and the players bottled it, ended up third. But I was in the CL final again, against Chelsea. My u-18 team were amazing, they were unbeaten and had a ridiculous GD: After my "big stars" turning gutless for the second end of season in a row I flogged most of them and brought through some promising younger players. Came from 3-0 at home to the Arse to draw 3-3 and won away at Shef Utd 5-0, then played Arsenal again in the super cup: Slightly lucky but I'll take it.

I suppose you could throw Luke Skywalker in with the "Saviour" theme and maybe even Aragorn from LOTR too.

Unlikely as we didn't sell him, he turned down a contract and left for Cardif. The fee we got was decided by a tribunal.
