  1. In fairness to Fred, at one point it seemed everyman and his goldfish wanted to say something about this. Before Fred came out spitting chicken wings, Fat Sam had opened his gob about it to sky (iirc) as had Paul Jewell. The LMA came out blowing bubbles about how unhappy they were before Fred had said much. So yes fred could let it go and say nothing, which may have been the best move. But, at the same time I think many people did over looog so easily the fact that GR was taking the licence before he took seriously ill. On that I think they should have showed him compassion, including the LMA. I found it odd they come out against GR despite this, more so when its not the first time managers have been given the green light to manage without this licence.
  2. This said, I think there are a canny few players we could get shot of, decreasing the wage bill (not many could be sold, mostly free's). Robbie Elliot (*) Lee Bowyer (*) Amady Faye James Milner £3M (sounds like he is away though I'd keep him) Luque £6M (If we could get decent money Id let him go as that money could be better used) * Lee Clark Chopra (*) Nicky Butt The above with * I think would need replacing like for like. We need a new LB. I also think we need two new forwards. One to play up front with Owen and another to develop perhaps. Another reason why I would keep Milner. If we're short of cash, he can play right (back up for Nobby) or up front. Could save us a few pennies. Prob being he wants to start every week and while he shone for villa, Im not sure if he could start each week for us (though would make the bench). If Bowyer, Butt, Faye and Clark left we'd need definately two new CM coming in. We have good options with Emre, Parker and Dyer but would leave us short on cover. But this would be 4 out and 2 in. For me its not necessarily about shrinking the squad being a problem, its having those players in reserve / on the bench good enough. If we could Id then also like to see at least one good CB come in. If it meant selling Boum then so be it. Bramble & Moore are decent and of course we'll have Taylor fit. The Woodgate / Campbell scenario, one of, would be just the thing.
  3. At the same time though, have you seen either recently? Albert piled the weight on and Tino's prob in jail.
  4. Well, just to be different. I cant imagine that the board say back, chucked other applicants names in the bin (OLeary, Bruce, Fat Sam perhaps) and just went "nah, cant be arsed, just give it to Roeder". I think Hitsfeld was never an option, I doubt there was ever even any contact. Scolari is another in the same mould. We were never the top job that Fred seems to think and for not getting those above (Sam, DOL etc) Im glad. Glen has came in, done a job and done it well. Despite many saying he only beat lower placed teams, they conveniently forget wins against spurs, bolton, wigan and chelsea. Underwhelmed perhaps, glad its sorted definately. Next season I'd be happy with securing maybe 5th and getting into UEFA Cup (not via intertoto) anything more is a bonus (and maybe doubtful). I am though curious about ONeil. Did he not want the job? wasnt it offered? better offer elsewhere? who knows. If the Glens the man then so be it. Blah blah blah, sorry, Ive bored myself now....
  5. Imagine if they gave in and said yes? what president would that set for the future? "Oh, dyer stubbed his toe on the way in to the game, can we replay?"
  6. This seems like old news. The headline suggested it was a done deal. I'd be very disappointed to see him leave. More so for the sort of money Villa are talking. A young English player with talent. Why do we want to sell him again? Selling him now only means we'll have to fork out double in 2 years time.
  7. I'd hope Nobby stays for at least one more season, though the rumour Id read was that he wanted to go back home. Id also like us to keep hold of Milner. In my eyes he is the perfect replacement for Nobby and can also play centre/up front. Given & Owen I think will stay. But the "defo" list above Id agree with. Alot of "average" players to move on, I just hope we can get decent first team / squad players in.
  8. Will stop him playing anyway...

    Easy Easy

Sorry like, I know is maybe just me, but whenever any of our fans start singing that twatful chant it makes me cringe. Really, it wasnt easy, and the chant is shit, so dont
  10. The last comment is a rumour no more no less.
  11. Also based on those Ive seen: --------------------Shilton --Neville - Terry - Adams - Pearce ----Beckham - Gascoigne - Waddle -------------------Rooney --------------Shearer - Lineker Subs: Seaman, Owen, Beardsley
  12. So tell me, I was in brazil a few years back, on my tour I went to Rio, I also went to see a football game while there. Assuming you follow local football, which would be your fave team? and Which part of the stadium do you sit?
  13. got 2/15 ..... some people just have no imagination
  14. Well, that was a fun read. Canny looking lass aye, though initially I thought it was the S-O post thingy. Aaanyway, impressive breasts to one side (whup, remove that image), whats a turkey dinosaur? Is that like, a really old one where maybe the feathers have fell out and its looking a bit old wifey ish. Oooooh speaking of old wifey, anyone watch that 10 years younger thing? some wife went from about 18stone to say 10stone but it left all the skin behind. Breasts right up to her knees and stomach skin looked like that of a skinned elephant. THEN they showed her in her bikini. Snip snip, and she was all better. Amazing stuff. Umm.... ok Ill shut up.
  15. Actually Shepherd promised a full time manager in charge before the end of the season. He also promised a top flight manager with european experience. He promises a lot and doesn't deliver. Remember the big surprise when we sold Woodgate and didn't buy Rooney. Of all the managers appointed by FFS we have Dalglish Gullit Robson and Souness. His record on this isn't outstanding. I think he is great at backing his managers with money but not on doing the right thing with managers. 130839[/snapback] Only with Souness did I expect the dramatic failure. I expected much much more from KD and RG. I consider Robson a good appointment.
  16. Bit ott for sure. The lack of an appointment certainly doesnt mean anyone is sitting there doing nothing about it. As it stands, Im quite happy how things are, so long as whatever is to be put in place is done not long after the final whistle so things can get rolling. Be it Roeder, be it Oneil, be it neither. The only thing I know 100% is that whoever the appointments are (back room also) all of the fans will not be happy. That much will be proven even just on this forum.

Oh aye, how could I forget him.. age tbh.
  21. I really dont see the point of selling him. Not yet at least. Also dont see how we can even talk to Villa until the new manager comes in and decides if he wants him. Unless he's already here of course

Anyway, as for the reasonable dabate, Id have to disagree about Ketsbaia, or headless chicken as I fondly remember him. Dabizas while a decent servent for the club, wasn't anything fantastic. Hamann I did like as a player and if Im correct, remains our highest value player sold. Given, Nobby, Speed and pearce were good signings. Hughes Id like us still to have kept as a utility player. Every manager does make bad signings. But let me refresh some of the finer moments. Firstly, the failed forwards. Tomasson (arguably out of position), Anderson (on his own too much), Paul Dalglish (not good enough), old mate Ian Rush (!), Guivarch, and I even think it was KD who had Kitson up front on his own. He signed keeper Perez from our mates down the road just to balance things up a little. thankfully, it wasnt he who signed Mike Hooper!

Well, did I just run over KD's fecking love child and I quote "Granted some took little persuading" By that I mean I know some wanted to leave. Yes, he did sign some decent players, but thats not what I was talking about. Please, dont try and defend KD. Oh and and you can take your bellend remark and shove it in your ear, hopefully it might put a smile on your face. Miserable freak

Well done that man, yup each and everyone of them was booted out of the club by one Mr Dalglish. Granted some took little persuading but looking at that side alone, let alone who stayed and was brought in, its not to shabby is it. Hence the title, twat.
