Id pretty much agree there. I thought Shola had a good game overall. Held the ball up well and took the header really well. Luque though still seemed a bit lost. Had a couple of canny runs but kept being caught offside.

A royal flush maybe? ----- As for when we sign players, there is no rule saying you MUST sign them three weeks before the window closes? We still have three weeks to sign players and while it does get alarming, you cant judge whats came in until its closed. Its like when we signed duff and people said "but we need forwards ffs". There is also no rule about what order you bring your signings in. Would be nice to have a forward before the season starts like, but I'll keep my thought on how his first batch of signings has gone until the window has closed.

aye and i bet the choir boys are cheaper than replacement blades as well

100% CATFACT! Dogs all the way for me like.

Aye, if you have passed a while ago and not driven, Id recommend getting a refresher. The reasn I said it by the way, is I left it 6 months before splashing out £300 on a Mk2 Escort anyway, I was utter shite. I had passed first time as well, but in that 6month forgot most of it. Actaully took te right wing off after a couple weeks by reversing into a parking space and hitting my front end along a fence Damn, that was about 15 years ago now like. On another note, I failed my Class 1 when I went for it because I wasnt strong enough to change down the gears and ended up free wheeling in neutral over a roundabout quite interesting when driving an 18 wheel artic !

Aye The Broken Doll. Some heavy nights in there like. A cracking range of Theakstons with a great atmosphere and an easy crowd. Some good live bands there as well. Used to stagger from there to the halal takeaway or the chilli pepper before getting a taxi (or walking) home.

Id suggest anyone who passes their test to get a car asap. No matter what people will tell you, 3 months after passing your test you are not a good driver. Nor 1 year later either. Like anything it comes iwth experience and practice. So the sooner you get your own car and start driving the better. Oh, and for all the boy racers out there with spoilers bigger than the car itself. Yes, society is laughing AT you not with you. For all those who then think its cool and makes them 'ard to drive around in circles in a big carpark, again it may impress your spotty mates buts its pretty sad. I'd much rather you took your girly car with its blacked out windows and chavtastic music off the end of shields pier and tried doing water wheel spins. Aah, feel better now

While since I drank down the Quay like. Its the new big market. While the big market *shudder* is more where the dregs of society hang out. In fact, no, its where what the dregs of society call the dregs of society hang out. Oh that and 14 year olds etc. I think the decent place (depending on what kind of night you are after), is now around the central. Revolution, Acora (old Empress), 55', etc. Mind, owld fogy that Im getting, I also like a drink in the Telegraph or up the top end. Aye... used to be the Farmers or the Doll (RIP). Mind, everything was black and white then like...

AND they wont be using proooooootekshun So thats 140 going there 210 on the way back...

I suppose there are different levels of the accent as well. I know when Im at work I have to try and tone down when Im speaking, not the accent, just the use of local vocab. Then usually if Im with mates or on the drink, my speech speeds up etc - though maybe thats just the drink I dont think the area is loosing anything though, just some area's have a greater concentration of students etc so it may appear that way.

Not the mainland like, but Rhodes has been one of my favourite holidays. No, not the chavtastic part, but the old town and Lindos.

your favourite premiership toon player without Al

Beardo has been the player I've enjoyed watching play the most. I usually put him in front of Shearer. Then probably Nobby. Not really for what the brough the team, but for their ability on the ball. -
...............clunk...... Oh aye..... See what ya mean. If we bought the player 05/06 or 06/07 it makes no odds. I imagine it just turns from being cash spent into an asset. So you have the same amount of money just in a different pot. (For all us non-abacus owners). Then as you say, depending on how they do depreciation, it would start to effect us maybe from next season. I cant see them depreciating over 10 years like. Maybe depends on how their year has been. Oooh, thinking numbers too much now.. Best stop.
-
Not quite. Last year the signings came late, so in the 05/06 accounts. Maybe they wanted to put this years off so they wouldnt have two years spending in one years accounts. Or, they could be genuinely being "careful" in who they bring in. Or, they could be getting knocked back. etc
-
One possible reason Id been told is that nufc's financial year ends 31/7. So, if we had a poor year 05/06 then any spending would be better if taken over into 06/07, and from 1st aug. this said, I'm not sure how they enter the purchases into the books. If its all in one go or if they can stagger the entry over mroe than one period. Could be nowt of the sort as well like ..

Oh I was. Had them with eagle eyes as well. Used to chuck them down the stairs to re-enact accidents on mountainsides. Loads a fun. Didnt look nowt like they do these days though, kids dont know how good they got it...

I am one of the "like" offenders like Cant really think of owt that I hate as far as figures of speech go. More the way people say them. Like charvas for example. Doesnt matter what they say it comes out (of their nose) annoying.

Sorry like buy anyone Booing one of our players on the pitch might as well sit with the opposing fans. They will sing various things in an attempt to jibe or rile one of the opposing players. By booing one of your own its doing just the same. I really dont see the point of trying to get one of our own players on the pitch to have a bad game? I really cant get that to sink in. I dont have to like Butt to want the team to win. I can sing and shout to support the team. But as they say the games so much about morale, people who try to lower morale by booing etc our own, need to get a grip. the fact it makes you look and sound like a twat it another thing Edit: for some odd grammar correction (sounded right the first time..)

No idea what prog ive missed. But I do have a scar in the middle of my left palm. When I was a kid I was stabbing an orange juice bottle that Id put an "action Jack" inside. While trying to stab him I went right through te bottle into my hand. Also got one on my chin where there front wheel came off my bmx as I done the teenies of jumps. Anyway, is it a one off or a series?

I suppose, for centre halfs when we have Bramble, Taylor, Moore (lets say Boum is on his way out) plus Ramage, though Campbell would be canny, Im guessing as Alex says we could do without the wages he would be asking. GR prob has a wages budget as well as transfer to stick to so this would be an increase he could do without. Certainly when we have so much need for CF & a LB. Also on Farfan, aye he is a cracking player, but I also see him as left sided. Klose I'd liked to have seen, but it could be that "if" we have enquired about him, he may have knocked us back. Or, GR may not want to take any risk at all and as he has never played in the Prem may see it as that. Bridge I dont understand. Elliot is gone, judging by the PSV game Ramage cannot play LB. Baba is inconsistent and takes the odd knock. Depending on the money involved in Bridge, Id have thought he would have been an obvious choice. My only worry about Defoe (apart from Spurs not needing the cash now so could hold out for a higher sum), is that when Owen comes back (ok then, if) he couldnt play the two together. Would be great in a rotation for me though having someone like Defoe on the bench or whatever. Maybe he could get Defoe and one more? We do need more than one striker afterall. Though I could imagine him only getting one in unless he can move Luque on. On Luque, while he has looked improved in the last couple of games, I'm still unconvinced. Hope he proves me and the rest of us wrong.

Understandable if it was carrot cake like. For choc cake its a bit ott.

This the ones where the bloke goes to different villages of different tribes and tries to sample their culture? If so, it is a good program. Poor bloke though, must be nuts some of the things he does.
-
Sure is. I just cant get my head around it. How the hell its meant to inspire any of the team or pick them up etc baffles me. Fair enough dont like a player if you must, but dont try and bring the rest of the team down let alone get on that players back. Just what these narrow minded idiots try to achieve by doing so I really have no clue.

Also known as celestial I think. Goes back to the time of Christ and so has connections to Hebrew. Aye....

Well, my thoughts on it. Before KO, crowd looked to be around 25k if that? PA system seemed quiet. At KO, the music volume went up but I struggled to understand the PA bloke. Seemed muffled. First half was pretty even and not that great. Shola up on his own gave us a toothless attack. when Shola did have the ball he was keeping hold of it well and trying to make his way through psv on his own until he eventually lost it. Notebly he wasnt getting that much support at times from the midfield. In te midfield Parker was good, mainly at dropping back and winning the ball with some solid tackles. Emre also looked lively making some great runs. Solano was pretty poor and Duff didnt get into any kind of stride. NZogbia also seemed a little muted. At the back, Ramage was at LB and was poor. Carr was at RB and though made some canny run forward at times, was exposed at the back by their nippy winger. Taylor was caught out a couple of times and Bramble done ok. Skied a couple of clearances but overall nothing drastic. Shay made a great save before their first goal. As for their 3rd goal, I assumed it happened when I nipped to the toilet. At half time I thought we were 2-0 down. I left the ground thinking we'd drew 2-2! Wasnt until I got to te bar someone told me they had scored 3. I asked the wife why she didnt tell me about their 3rd and she said she hadnt noticed. Naturally I gave her some stick but by the sounds of it, it went past fairly un-noticed anyway. So, second half and a few changes made. HT was Moore on for Taylor. Moore settled right in and looked sharp. When Luque and Milner came on it did make a difference. Milner was causing more problems down the right than Nobby did, however his crossing isnt as accurate. He was getting behind them but the ball in was at times poor. that said, this did lead to our first goal. End of the first and start of the second half before he was subbed Duff was greatly improved causing them problems. Getting behind and holding on to the ball well. Butt had came on with them and, well, I was actually embarrassed when he got booed. Again after a couple of touches then later on it stopped. Butt actually done ok after a dodgy first few mins. Luque looked ok at times when he had the ball, but often didnt seem that keen to chase for it. We did look more of a threat though 2nd half, mainly due to the 2nd striker. Alan Obrien came on late on and while he is fast as owt, he never had a chance to do anything. Krul came on for given at the end also but I dont think he touched the ball. Our best team I think would have been: Given, Carr, Bramble, Moore, Ramage (as no othre choice), Solano (close one on Milner. Milner has pace and Nobby has crossing), Parker, Emre, Duff (on 2nd half display when he came alive and caused problems). Shola & Luque. Not sure how Carr won MotM either. For me it was prob Emre or Parker. All in all, what you expect from a pre-season. Clearly showed our need for a striker and LB though. On Duff I do think he will be a great signing once he settles in and gets his fitness.
