There was an interesting post on Twitter a while back that he’s actually better on the right, based on times he’s switched wings for us. Small sample size but it is interesting, I’ll try and dig it up.

Tbf I think Pulisic and Sancho are both in difficult circumstances in that Chelsea sub Pulisic in and out, and Manchester United have enjoyed destroying players in recent years. Agree with Bailey though he looks terrible.

Diaby got 17 goals and 14 assists this season I think, Diaby is a very direct player rather than a dribbler I think.

What did he say on that? I thought it had been fairly public for a long time that a deal was in the works? Maybe I’m wrong and your man nailed it, as I say it’s possible that he does know someone through someone like I do (I assume he would then actively ask whereas I just get messaged now and again when the lads excited or pissed off about something ) but it’s hard to tell as like AH says he largely just repeats things that are in public and very quickly changes his tune if one reporter says something contrary to his posts.

Agree, wasn’t meaning you were saying our midfield was good btw I saw your post as more saying the forwards are priority and the midfield can be serviceable if it comes to it but you want improvements in both. I was just meaning imo the forwards and CM are almost equal priority to me (with the front line edging it), I’d absolutely love Paqueta in but I also think that we probably need a proper DM more - like Sangare or Bissouma.

Some of our scouts really want Paqueta (like the one I know), but Nickson has been strongly arguing against it. We’ve spoken to Lyon a lot about him but have always been miles apart on price. I agree we need forwards, but I still maintain our midfield is dogshit and we can’t just rely on hoping Bruno plays the entire season. Our possession stats are completely crap and it’s caused by Shelvey, Willock, Longstaff losing possession and wayward passes. I also think Joelinton is a fairly poor passer of the ball in that his range of passing is almost non existent (I do really like the other things he brings to the team).

He also very regularly says both things “Paqueta 100% happening” “Paqueta 100% not happening”, then he will delete the one that turns out wrong, and retweet the one that was right, he also tweets ambiguous things like “big progress on targets mentioned here today”. I will say some of the things he mentions align with things I sometimes here (in my role as least arsed itk ever) but they could also be public knowledge.

There’s sadly a chance he’s right, I’d heard Nickson was really arguing that bit Edwards mentioned about him not playing in a position we need and that we should spend elsewhere. Personally I think it’s a massive need, our midfield is painful - complete lack of creativity and chance creation, cannot retain the ball, I still think CM/attacking mid is a massive priority.

I’ve seen this numerous times on Twitter today, Villa fans claiming we are trying to start a rivalry despite the fact every fucking post I see from them is saying they beat us to signing whatever wank player they’ve signed. In fact this chain was also on a post about how they’re beating us to players and spending more than us, it’s fucking May ffs. Also, they literally made banners about us going down the boring, small time Brummy nonces.

Don’t pay attention to it and maybe it happens, fucking hell imagine Paqueta, Bruno, Neymar, and Diaby.

Aye, the fucking window hasn’t even opened. I was team pissy pants in January but howay man, people need to get a grip. I’ve even seen some saying we should have had deals lined up from January, but we’ve changed a lot of our targets now we know we’re in the PL next season with better quality players open to coming.

He’s a complete piece of shit, they hide behind this feigned disgust when people bring up their desire to talk about how to stop this happening again by saying “this isn’t the time to talk politics, and frankly you’re out of line we need to think of the parents who have lost their children”, complete and utter fucking BULLSHIT. The constant harping on about mental health being the issue too, yet the Republicans don’t want to do anything about that either, so why bring it up? He’s right that the democrat proposals won’t work, I’ve said for a long time the only way to stop it is a complete ban as other nations have. You can make it as hard as you want to get a firearm, run as many tests as you can on a person but it doesn’t stop someone else taking a gun from a friend, relative, or whoever does it? Sandy Hook - the killer took the weapons from his mother, she may have passed every fucking test you could throw at a person it’s irrelevant. The lockdown thing is horrendous. My wife is a teacher at a middle school, one of the children in her class is disabled and has to use an elevator, he literally asked her the other day what he’s meant to do if a shooter comes in and he’s in the elevator as the doors won’t lock and if everyone locks their doors (buttons to lock the doors and bullet proof glass btw) what’s he meant to do? It’s fucking heartbreaking.

I don’t think he’s at the level of player we are really looking for. When you consider it’s been Paqueta, Bruno, Trippier, etc being our number 1 targets, Targett was 3rd or 4th on the list in January - he performed really well but I think it’s fair to say he’s not the level of player the others are. As he isn’t really open to being back-up/squad player it’s not on the cards. I’ve personally always thought it was telling that he was a loan too, whereas we signed others like Burn who weren’t first choice targets.

I’ve heard this is true, as always take it or leave it but think it’s great news. Villa have signed Carlos - we went off him. Scouting multiple left backs so I think fair to say Targett won’t be permanent.

I wish I could say it was, brilliant account.

So I’ll just keep bringing up Newcastle and demanding people respect what I did, that won’t lead to any more stick.

I can’t remember if I’ve mentioned it on here before, but one of my dads mates did some work on Shearer’s house. He demanded everyone refer to him as Mr Shearer, one day his wife brought all the lads fish and chips and Shearer deducted the cost when he paid the invoice for the work .

btw very convenient Bruce doing this stupid interview and Shearer bigging him up at the same time. Is Luke Edwards going to write a piece about how Bruce should shut the fuck up as he’s no longer manager so should move on?

But lads, how can we ever forget Think you’re all being ungrateful, he almost signed a player that’s doing really well. Highly unlikely he’d have been this good in Bruce’s “system” with his lack of training but we should now thank him for nearly transfers.
