“Our transfer budget will be based on our Crypto, so we have a budget of £100m… Oh now £1m… yep back to £20m…. A fiver… actually we’re now bankrupt”

Barely had a fortnight of dreeeemin for UAE ownership (new found principles right out the window). Since the owners aren’t clear I’m going to guess it’s Donald Stewart and Methven Charlie, suspiciously similar looking to their current owners but have facial hair so can’t be them marra.

They’ve done it about 4 times at this point, works everytime too. They had the Dell takeover (well a fund that Dell has a minority passive investment in), then the two trust fund boys buying minority stakes in the club, while making a big deal that they look to increase their stakes (why not just buy it outright?). There’s also Storey’s madness which their fans seem to love, and probably others over the last half a decade.

First Elton John, and now Ed Sheeran. How will we ever get over the superstars flocking to the Stadium of Litter?

Fresh out the microwave. -
Wonder who at the Telegraph did that transfer round up.

Not open until June 10th. I honestly don’t think it’ll be that hard to offload them, it’s just Edwards being a tedious bellend as always. Teams were more than happy to take Hendricks, Clark, Lewis, Gayle, etc on loan, there will be plenty takers on permanent deals. Perhaps we have to foot some of their wage so they’re earning what they did on our books, but that would still clear a large portion off the wage bill.

Honestly looking back that Sambuca team dinner is fucking hilarious. “You can have anything off the menu boys, just don’t add any bacon or cheese to anything as that’s an extra quid”. What a total cunt Ashley is -

Yeah, that’s my assumption from what the statement said. He’d be more involved with recruitment, policy, staffing with others in charge of planning and building stadium/training ground improvements. I assume he’d have input into what they need at the training ground though. -

“Ashworth will be responsible for the club's overarching sporting strategy, football development and recruitment at all age levels, and will work closely with head coach Eddie Howe, academy manager Steve Harper and head of recruitment Steve Nickson.” So I think Sporting Director is more that side of things, whereas Technical Director is more infrastructure of the club, like facilities etc. Bit of a guess going off that statement mind. -
I also enjoy that he’s so “committed” he goes and buys shite Castore clobber which is wildly overpriced purely because they’re the kit manufacturer.

Generic small time football blather thread FOREVER

It’s funny that our fan base constantly gets called deluded, yet this is the absolute dross some other fan bases come out with. -
I genuinely can’t believe they’re still pumping out articles like this, and he’s still fucking crying and bringing up his time here - if he’s so upset then shut the fuck up about it? Everyone would have moved on. The bloke basically tries to pat himself on the back for keeping us in the league as that meant we got the takeover, and the writer says “Newcastles loss might be the Baggies gain”, even calling West Broms play off chances a long shot (they were 5th when he took over). The bias in this blokes favor is absurd. One of the worst managers in PL history and they bang on like he’s a top manager getting harsh criticism.

Spot on, I thought the loan itself was telling iyam. We know he was low down the list, all of our other signings were first or first alternative on their lists (other than Wood but there was zero chance of a loan) and we bought them. I think we got him in on loan with option to buy in case we went down, now that we’ve not only stayed up but finished in a solid position the level of player we can attract is far higher than it was in January (plus clubs are more willing to sell in this window).

👀✅🤝 What a nob he is. He will be fuming btw.

Southgate is a nob like. Three right backs starting, two more on the bench, starting Maguire and Pickford. -
So if we got the back 4 from players we have/been linked to: Trippier - Saliba - Botman - Lodi Fucking hell man, I know it's only links to three of those but this is bonkers.

Oh aye, last time I was home (pre-COVID) I was down North Shields fish quay, in The Ship's Cat, when Fender walked in. The place was empty but got canny busy once he come (assuming it was after a gig) I had no idea who he was but one of my mates was banging on about him. Anyway, at one point I was getting a drink and he stood next to me at the bar. I told him it was good to hear of a local lad doing well and I'll look out for his stuff. He said thanks, but after getting his drink he gave a look over both shoulders and lent towards me before saying "actually I'm not from here, I'm actually from South Shields which meant I was a massive lads fan but I switched allegiances as a 1992 bandwagon jumper despite that being two years before I was born, FTM" I was a bit taken aback but after thinking about it it makes sense given it's literally impossible for anyone to be born local to Newcastle and support them, everyone is born far away and bandwagon jumps provided you have any type of success in life.

That’ll show him.
