Trek america looks like a good company to travel with like they do trips as long as 64 days looping right round America I think it even goes into Canada. I'm not sure what America is like if you go on your own travelling I know Australia is piss easy to meet people and get into groups 2 of my mates are currently over in Oz, I'm going to the US on camp america where I'll work on camp for 2 month then I get time to travel after but I think applications have closed for that this year. Oh btw I think trek America operate in groups of 13-14 people so that's a canny group and you travel in a 13 seater van with a trailer to put all your gear in.
