What's that lads name who plays (or played) in the lower leagues and he used to be a regular feature on the old Soccer AM and lovejoy used to pull himself over the lad every week. Not saying we should get him like just you lot got me thinking of shit strikers . Also is it Kazenga who's got the broken leg at the minute? I know we loaned him out.

Agreed tbh, if we put 5 in midfield whereby Tiote sits back and 2 (Ireland and Nolan?) sat just off Best then we might nick a goal here and there. Then like you say hoy Ranger on when the defenders are knackered in the last 20 minutes. Losing Shola is a huge kick in the sack, as realistically he's the only one we've got that can play up front alone since Best isn't cut out for this division, Ranger is way too young and inexperienced to try and play that role (if he ever will be able too) and Lovenkrands is Lovenkrands.

7 weeks ago Liverpool were a mess and we beat them 3-1

Pardew is OK. With backing he isn't so bad as people think and could do a good job. However, is this you being blindly optimistic or pointing out how a good club should be run ? Believe it or not Leazes I've never disagreed with most of what you say and feel the same way as you on more things than not. Most people here are in that camp too. Shepherd/Hall were the first chairmen in my lifetime who've had the ambition to match the phenomenal support. The only thing any of us disagree with you about is the last few years of their time here when we were throwing borrowed money at mercenaries trying to get back to where we had been. Nail on the head. It is a pretty depressing turn around in all. -
Newcastle 4-4 Arsenal - Saturday 5th February K/O - 3:00pm

Imagine if he got a straight red again that really would be our luck at the minute. -
I think another relegation would fuck us, we managed to hold onto Collo, Enrique, Barton etc because they weren't the standout's in our team then (Beye, Bassong etc were). I think if we go down now we'd lose them and then it'd be Simpson, Taylor, Williamson, Perch as the back 4 (provided they even stay). People stuck with us last time due to either their low marketability or a belief that we could genuinely turn it round and get back up and stay up, going back down again the year after promotion does away with that belief and we've got no one behind the players we have now that could come good. Edit; In response to the main question though I guess it would depend on who replaced him, if it was some big billionaire man city style consortium that would hoy money about, or a bloke/consortium that really had the club and fans best interests at heart then maybe it'd be worth it if he was 100% guaranteed gone.

This tbh, the where the goals will come from factor is worrying but I still think we're not as bad as others. We've played ok in the games Carroll's been out and we've scored goals in them, the loss of Shola is a big one (did I really just say that ) but hopefully we can just keep up the form we've been in (this game aside).
-
That was good. Seems to be where he excels - scrappy physical encounters where you don't need to think, just react. Aye it was a good shot that really took Schwarzer by suprise, I think he needs a goal like that where he just hits it without thinking too much to get some confidence. Not saying he's going to be the next big thing but to be fair to the lad he gets himself in the right positions and does a lot of the hard work. Like others have said there was worse on the field tonight, Best included imo.
-
Schwarzer was fortunate to save that shot he managed to get off but that was about all he did, I'm willing to give him a shot tbh because it's not like we've got much else especially with Shola crocked .

I hate Chris Coleman, pulling himself off about Carroll. How many games has he seen Carroll play man. Also hate Duff the little bastard couldn't have been happier to score past us. We looked toothless but it was against a confident well drilled team away from home.

. . as a forefit for tubby . wouldnt put it past them right now . fret not - the gawky berk wouldn't know where His statue is , never mind who He is man ! Good point. -
1-3 I reckon Nolan first. Good feeling about the neet, people need to get some perspective on this Carroll thing 4FS. Like a fuckin depressed mental institution reading some of these posts. Aye I fancy us for a similar scoreline, Fulham are definitely beatable.

What's his follow up to saying Shearer's opinion doesn't matter and trying to imply he's done fuck all? is he going to go and have a piss on Milburn's statue? ffs man this total joker is in charge of running the club. -
Aye cos he knows he's the number 1 striker now

No doubt it'll cover the contracts of any current players in all, like the renewing of Enrique and Bartons contracts (if they still happen) so that's probably a good 5-8m on each of them straight away. -

You wouldn't shut up about how shit he was not so long ago. -
Aye tbh you're right, I can see him sticking with Best and Shola but we really have to play 5 midfielders especially when Ben Arfa and Ireland come back.
-
This tbh. It could have been fucking £100m we've still got Shola, Best, Lovenkrands and Ranger as our forward line and no guarantee whatsoever that we'll buy anyone of note, people have been screaming how we need a winger and a striker to go alongside Carroll all month and instead we've sold Carroll, loaned out a winger and brought in a CM on loan. Selling your best player to a panicking team as the window's slamming shut without replacement, good business for Ashley but shite for us fans. This 100%, threadbare just got barer...couple of injuries and when the remaining forwards inevitably struggle to find the net we'll be found out and struggling. Shola probably hasn't got much longer until he breaks down again. Anyone else going to Fulham tomorrow? Fetch your boots you might get a run out chill, ashleys thought it all through. we've got leon best and lovenkrands to step up next time shola's injured Anyone else going to Fulham tomorrow? Fetch your boots you might get a run out... Lets all calm the fuck down tho eh? we've also got that £35m that we can't spend.
-
Now we're left with Shola, Best, Ranger and Lovenkrands who do people reckon should be the starting 2? (unless they go with 5 in midfield) I'm in two minds tbh, not sure if we go with the immense pairing of Shola and Best or if we now put all our faith into Ranger coming good. I'll probably have Shola up front as the main 'threat' and then alternate between Best and Ranger until one of them starts showing them self to be more deserving, I know Ranger's a loon and Best is apparently a proper professional but I don't think it's in any doubt that Ranger has more potential, Lovenkrands as far away from the 1st team as possible in all. Nee idea what's in the reserves btw, maybe someone who watches them will know better about Airey etc.

You fucking idiot. 35+15 of his own money which he would have to of spent before the AC sale. Your the fucking idiot Gemmill. Do one you acidic little troll. sorry like mate but you're living on another planet if you think ashley is going to invest 50m. what has he done so far to make you think he'll do that now? the fact that he's made net profits the last few windows should tell you you need to know about his recruitment strategy. buy cheap, sell high. he's in this game for the money, nothing else. The one thing Ashley had left was his alleged policy of nurturing, not selling, talented youth. He's failed that one at the first fucking test of it so now we have nowt, we know any decent prospects that come through are up for grabs and he wont re-invest.
-
Good post, like I mentioned in another thread all this back and forth between Carroll and the club is embarrassing neither can entirely blame the other. Like you've said if his talk of wanting to be the no9 for us for years etc was all true he'd have never went to Liverpool he was on a 5 year deal with us and could stay whether Ashley liked it or not but he wanted the money + liked Liverpool's ambition and he's went. We all know the type of spineless man Ashley is so him wanting to cash in is hardly a suprise.

Howay replied to Barney's topic in Newcastle Forum
Exactly. It's a deal everyone was happy with. Ashley's still a cunt (I had said I'd give him kudos if Carroll was still here in Feb, unfortunately he waved that opportunity), and now carroll's a cunt too. you can't renegotiate your contract every 3 fucking months! He wouldn't be so willing to renegotiate downwards when he goes through an inevitable baron run would he. That's why you have 5 year contracts...unless you're Don fucking Draper. Nail on the head, it's cringeworthy watching both sides now trying to save face. -
Delete the cunt, that'll teach him Cant fucking stand anyone from an NE postcode who chooses to follow an outside team. Fucking mug, he is mate. Makes my blood boil the amount of times I've heard "I'm a Man U fan... it's cos my dad lived in Manchester for a bit" etc, the best ones are Chelsea 'fans' I asked one when he started 'supporting' them "2003" was the response. I've got nee time for the lad, he's a know nowt 'supported' spain in the world cup in all can you believe that? I just can't understand why these lads do this, they live in a city with a premier league club ffs.
