Decent manager, bit of a cock and has done an ok job so far but not really been able to put his mark on the team yet. If he's given money to spend it'll be interesting to see who he brings in and how he puts his team out, he is a puppet but really can't blame him as this is the biggest job he's had and he knew the owner was a cunt coming into it.

Agree with this tbh, we need to start building a squad as well as improving our first 11 we can't just let everyone go that we deem isn't going to be a first team regular. For the money they're talking you'd be hard pressed to improve on routledge so there's really no point, especially as it seems he doesn't really want to leave.

I wonder if they'd work in the same team together. For all his quality, Ronaldo's temperament and tendency to sulk when things aren't going his way is what will always make Messi a better player for me. Aye Messi's personality and attitude would swing it for me if I had to choose, just a class act on and off the field. Ronaldo's also a bit greedier and tends to have a crack whenever he's given half a yard (I know he has a hell of a shot and scores a fair share this way though) which can sometimes spoil good moves whereas messi will look to set up one-two's to set up an easier shot.

They're both world class players, I think Messi is the better dribbler etc whereas Ronaldo is the better athlete. Their effectiveness is very similar.

The worry is how much you need to spend to buy anything like a decent replacement. How much did city have to pay for Dzeko? Whatever it was it was too much, he's gash. if they spend much of it at all

Most of us are basing our assumption off seeing various sub appearances as well as the start, I'm not completely writing him off just would prefer sub appearances to be what he gets rather than starts (I know due to injuries etc it's forced Pardews hand) as he's obviously miles away from playing at this level. A loan to a championship club would be the best option (IF we get strikers in, which if we don't we're fucked next season anyway), we may as well just try other young strikers like Phil Airey while we're at it because Ranger really hasn't shown anything to be deserving of his current place.

Fwiw when Shola's fit I'd far rather him play than Ranger, as shite as Shola is he can score (no matter how rarely) whereas Ranger has missed more sitters than any striker I've seen in a while, massive difference between reserves and 1st team and atm Ranger looks a million miles away from becoming an effective top flight player (if he ever will become one). He fell on his arse on at least 3 occasions and lacked the footballing brain to pass to Lovenkrands twice.

Very hard to pick from Barton, Tiote and Nolan tbh they've all been major factors in most of our good results this season. Nolan's 12 goals is very impressive but equally impressive has been all of Barton's creativity and Tiote's controlling of tempo. My vote goes to Tiote simply because I'd next to no previous knowledge of him and he's made an instant impact which in itself is impressive. Aye good point tbh, set himself a very high bar and despite being always nothing short of a solid LB due to him being such a standout it makes him more noticeable if he has a slightly 'off' game.

Tbh Basketball just isn't a big sport here at all but it's canny popular in other European countries particularly Spain, so to be fair Lebron is probably one of the most recognizable faces when it comes to the US sports at least in other nations.
