I think any talk of Bruno being sold is just opinion rather than anything concrete. The bloke seems more than happy to stay, and as KD noted we should be building around him. Our FFP situation starts to really clear come summer as this year will be one of the FFP back years which will have the sale of ASM (and potentially Almiron) as well as CL money, SELA and other sponsorships.
-
Probably Livramento, not ideal but it’s too good an opportunity to shift Almiron provided they give us the money we want.
-
Really hope we are selling Almiron. We have Murphy and Barnes both back soon so I don’t think we need a replacement immediately, we could hold off until summer and make sure this year was strong profit FFP wise.

Beeeewwwww! Is this still part of the master plan?

Ashley gave poor players good wages so they had no reason to leave and he didn’t have to buy anyone, we’re now struggling with getting them off the books due to this. Then when we do manage to get rid of some of these absolutely honking players all the NUFC Twitter lot praise them for being “superb servants” and praise them for being fouled against Leeds . Manquillo was on something like £30k a week, that’s not being loyal that’s simply staying where you’re fucking overpaid. On Eales I honestly think he’s just playing it smart, riling up other clubs and stirring the conversation - it even led to Emery making a similar statement about being limited by FFP. I think we have room to sign players this window I just don’t think they want to be forced into overpaying in a window that you often have to. They probably think we will be getting players back from injury soon and will be able to turn things around to a degree to close the season out where we then will have a profitable FFP year on our record going forward.

I saw a post where they were saying not to hound the manager out like the “delewwwded bunch up the road”, meanwhile in the time span we’ve had Rafa, Bruce, and Howe - of which the fan base only gave one of those pelters - they’ve had something like 10 managers . They really do just make absolute shite up. The Al-Rummayyan stuff from them is bizarre, they have this real obsession in their head that absolutely no one in the media is making points about our ownership but meanwhile it’s pretty much the only discussion the media has about NUFC . Maybe they’re not discussing this case in particular but it’s not ground breaking stuff is it? Government minister involved in dealings of the government, additionally what do they think them waffling on endlessly is going to accomplish? Focus on your own shite club not your neighbors who are light years ahead.

So, they’ve bought the club at a cost of £300m, spent another £1b in court in order to get the sale through and so far spent about £400m on players and injected £100m or so into it via the share buying cash injections, the next step of this master plan is to then buy not only new land to build a new stadium on, but also buy the land SJP currently sits on. They will then lease the land they own, to the club they own (for a reason I guess). Then they will neglect to invest in players as they cite needing to pay the stadium off (so I assume the stadium build debt is burdening the club at this point). The final step of this grand plan is to then sell the club that has at this point cost you £1.3b plus the land you built the new stadium on (I’ll ignore the losses they’re covering for buying players and injecting cash into the club), at a profit while the club is heavily burdened with the debt of the stadium you’ve made it build and has by this point a presumably shit squad due to neglect? What is the ultimate point of this theoretical plan and why the fuck would the poster assume there’s any chance whatsoever it’s accurate? Why don’t they just watch football? I’ve never once just sat about dreaming up scenarios of what the mackem owners are doing with the club .

Nickson was in Italy scouting Ederson at Atalanta this week apparently.

It’s fucking mad they spend most the time acting like they’re this morally superior fan base, then when a bloke is a victim of armed robbery they’re all celebrating, the same bloke they all made up rumours about that he got a 16 year old lass pregnant and spent the last few weeks abusing for being a nonce while they also defend actual nonce Adam Johnson. What a bunch of specimens.
-
The Twitter rumours are that it’s now. So far it looks to be just Brazillian publications.
-
It does depend though, I think winning the Europa League nets about €20m - fail to reach the final and you’d get just over half that - Kalvin Phillips alone would be over half that between fee and wages all hitting this year. There’d also still be a large chance we missed out with him.
-
As a fan I want us to sign a player this window, but I can see why they’re so hesitant. We will likely have a good profit this annual period, with the new sponsors, sale of ASM, and CL money - then next year we will have the adidas deal etc. So there’s a risk of throwing good money at a bad situation if we were to dip into the January market. They likely hope we turn our form around, have a strong finish with what we have and an FA cup run. Then we go into next season with at least one decent FFP year in the bank, and a ton of players back.

I think first half we were really good, we absorbed their threat well and sprung the counter really well. Got caught narrowly by their trap a couple of times before timing it well and scoring two brilliant goals. The point London Blue is highlighting about Bruno I disagree with, if they want to highlight that then from our side Dias got away with murder in the first half imo. There were three occasions he made zero attempt to play the ball and simply ran into our player - none of them resulted in a foul and the most blatant one ended with their first goal. Rodri similarly could have saw red if the argument is Bruno should have walked - fwiw I’d rather keep 11 v 11 and play on but I’m not really having the argument from a City perspective tbh. Walker similarly should have been booked for an absurd foul on Gordon. Second half we ran out of steam, they have such high quality players and could turn the screw. Not sure why Howe is coming under so much flak on twitter etc, we have no options really. If we were able to bring Joelinton, Willock, Tonali, Barnes, Murphy etc off the bench to keep our lot going we’d have been closer but in the end our legs tired and their quality shone through. The third goal was just absurdly good imo, the pass from KDB and the control from Bobb.

“Six in a row”

Aye . I’m not a fan of either player but that Guirassy we’ve been linked to seems a far better option for the price, Solanke is likely just in a purple patch this season.
-
Aye I’d read their original poster as 44 goals in 97 games, which I agree would be impressive (although like they always ignore you have to factor in the level), 44 goals and assists in 97 games is good but I don’t see it as something to start acting like he’s some CL talent , I think that’s why I misread it. For comparison at a similar age Isak has 21 goals and assists in 29 PL starts, albeit most games are central but fucking hell that lot need to learn the levels of the game.
-
So the same as Hazard had in his first two Premier League seasons, uncanny as Meenz says
-
Aye their careers are uncanny, by the same point in his career Hazard had won Ligue 1 player of the year twice (the youngest player to do so) on his way to a league and cup double before a £32m transfer to Chelsea (a decade ago so that fee would be far higher), winning a Europa league with Chelsea as he took the PL by storm. In contrast, and their own admission, Clarke has bounced around a bunch of clubs and scored 44 goals in the championship. Are they going to compare Hume to Cafu next?
-
Aye it was the perfect display to show the absolute chasm between the two clubs, one our side has highlighted while many on their side have denied. Our lot never left second gear and were still completely dominant from kick off to final whistle, there’s a lot of rational mackem posts that have highlighted this and admitted it was a reality check (even on RTG). Of course there’s still nutters on their side saying they gave us a game and there wasn’t much in it etc but that was bound to happen.

Aye I’ve long found their obsession that their squad is all insanely young and will improve massively to be hilarious. Clarke is older than Gordon for example, and there’s a similar age difference between Tonali and Dan Neil, Botman is years younger than Ballard, Livramento and Isak are similar age to many of their lot, Miley is younger than Bellingham. Yes their average squad age is younger since we mix in experience like Wilson, Trippier, Pope etc but the mackems consistently ignore we have players all of a similar age and currently playing at the top end of the PL and in the CL. Just because they’re young and hanging around play off level doesn’t mean they’re going to kick on and make the step up, it’s an absurd assumption.
