Aye, I wasn't exactly over the moon with the appointment of Pardew but the bloke has done a great job. He has his tactical frailties (particularly the high line against quick teams) but which manager doesn't? he's youngish for a premiership manager and we've done nothing but progress under his leadership so far, he can be a bellend but he's always vocal in defence of his players and I like that quality and fair play to the bloke he has really made an effort to understand the fans and the area. I also like all those stories about how while out of management he scouted players in Germany and studied how they approach training and matches over there, shows the mans professionalism imo. Anyone that tries to make a point that we should chuck Pardew is a mug, we're 6th and 5 points clear of Liverpool who paid us £35m for our top scorer just a year ago. All this bollocks about 'he's took us as far as he can go' is completely unfounded, if someone had said we'd be 6th in March 5 points clear of 7th when we sold Carroll I'd of laughed at them. He's a young hungry manager who is improving all the time, it's clear he's a better manager now than he was back when he managed West Ham, like I said earlier every manager has supposed problems pointed at their tactics and hopefully Pardew can figure out a way to lessen his but he's been nothing but positive for us so far.

Cattermole is a terrible player, agree with Northernsoul's post. Cattermole is just a clogger and a spoiler but he's seen as some sort of gritty midfielder who'll grab the game by the scruff of the neck and drag the team with him, when in reality he just runs round putting in late challenges and losing his temper. The two early tackles by Cattermole on Tiote and then Tiote back on Cattermole showed the gulf in class, Cattermole just lunged in wildly like a total amateur whereas Tiote's retaliation was a hard challenge that won the ball although the ref cannot be faulted for giving them a free kick as it was an excessively hard challenge. It's not even worth comparing their skill on the ball as Tiote is head and shoulders above him and Tiote's reading of the game is better hence why he puts in a lot less late challenges than Cattermole. I think a lot of Tiote's bookings come from trying to avoid quick counters and stopping the opponents catching our defence short by just taking a booking and letting the team re group, whereas Cattermole's come from wild lunges and late tackles. FWIW I also really dislike how they call him Catt's.

They all seem to be convinced O'Neill refused to have a pint with Pardew post game which is tradition after the derby apparently, they're loving this but is it not just further proof that O'Neill is a cuntbag too? really don't understand why they're so riled up by Pardew celebrating like he did when O'Neill was acting like Rocky after beating Apollo Creed. All the talk of 'we're a top 3 team under O'Neill look at the form table' 'mags teams shite sess and McClean will show them up' basically setting up a situation where they pretty unanimously thought they were going to come and slaughter us, they draw with us and we dominate the game but we're the one's that have messed up as they've 'took a draw to a top 6 side away' I agree with them of course it's 2 points dropped by us but pre-game we stood no chance according to them. This "Tiote cheated" shite they're all consumed with Sessegnon elbowed him in the face I agree he went down to make more of it but how many players wouldn't go down? they had about 4 different topics on the incident but whether he fell or not Sessegnon getting sent off was the correct outcome. I've seen a fair few of them have started saying they dominated from 0-60 minutes, must've watched a different game to me tbh they got the goal (which was a very soft penalty, Pardew's comments about how it was a pen under the law but you never see them given was fair) then O'Neill switched them to parking the bus mode. They're certain the ref was on our side despite getting a lot of dubious free kicks, Cattermole lasting the 90 minutes and us having at least 2 penalty shouts of at least equal claim to theirs turned down before we were given a pen that should have been re-taken. I can't bear these twats tbh, this is exactly how I knew they'd react. Threads about how 9 men and a dodgy ref was what it took for us to draw, Cattermole lasted the full game and Sessegnon wouldn't have made a massive difference in that 2nd half as we were already getting into control and he's just an outlet for them.
