  1. I had a teacher that anytime Newcastle lost would tell us he had it worse because he supported Mansfield. He'd always tell us about how they were 5-0 up in the 85th minute and went on to lose the match 5-6, with the 6th hit in from 40 yards as the left back and goalie were arguing about who was to blame for conceding the 5th. No idea if this was true but always makes me laugh when I hear about Mansfield.
  2. Felt bad for the bloke, no bids on the first auction. Got one bid on the re-listed one, wonder how much it cost him to get all that stuff.

Must admit I never seem to do well with Barca either, Madrid I can do okay with but it's mostly down to Ronaldo + Benzema. I quite enjoyed playing as Marseilles tbh, only tried Bayern once so might give them a go again.

Cheers Ant, I'll try that. Aye I noticed that when I played online outside of seasons mode nigh on every game I play was one of them two.

I was initially playing as Tottenham, the high line they seem to play was getting me killed. I started using Marseilles and it went well for a while until I come up with another bloke that did it. I just can't seem to stop the diagonal across the box to the back post, a bloke scored a diving header with it when my player should have really had the ball. Guess I just need to get used to the new defending more, I went from Fifa 11 to this one.

Never really bothered with this online but thought I'd try some of the Seasons mode out. Is the lobbed through ball an exploit? I've dominated every game I've played possession wise and shots etc and win most but now and again I come up against people who are terrible and barely touch the ball but score nigh on every time they do get it. I'll admit I'm not very good at defending but they do the L1 + triangle and my defender cannot win the ball even when I get to it first my player slows down and he breaks past me and takes it, then they use L1 + triangle to a player on the back post who diving headers it in no matter where my defender is. They then go on to do this every single time they get the ball, sometimes I can hook it away from them but often I just can't seem to win the ball. Is this some sort of exploit like the drag back goals on previous games and is there a way to defend against it? Like I say I'm not very good but I know I'm better than the players that do this to me, it's putting me off bothering as every couple of games I come up against blokes that do this.
  7. He ripped us apart last season. He's one of them players where he's either amazing or he just can't be arsed, hopefully with the traveling and not being 100% we see the latter version of him
  8. The Fabregas mention is a bit odd too seeing as he almost went straight into their first team and Barca were gutted to lose him, not sure it was a big gamble.
  9. aye was going to say he was a disaster, wasn't it him that was rumored to have just sat inside watching tv during training sessions leaving it to the other coaches?
  10. You mentioned 9 so not sure of which 7 of the 9 are the ones you think would get into our starting 11 but: Izaguirre would have an extremely tough job getting a game over Davide Santon, can't see that one. Kayal, Brown, Mulgrew, Ledley and Wanyama wouldn't get a game over Sissoko, Cabaye and Tiote, I'd also take Anita over all bar perhaps Wanyama. Matthews definitely wouldn't get in over Debuchy. Forster wouldn't get in over Krul. And I'd take Cisse over Hooper for sure.
  11. Aye by that logic Bradford City are Premiership quality.
  12. Agree about the Bundesliga point, but that's hardly our fault is it?
  13. Fucking bamps man, what the hell is Champions league class? Andy Griffin scored past Juventus, I wouldn't say he was a top full back. Forster played well in a couple of games but as others have pointed out he's let in goals against garbage like st Mirrin. It'd be another story altogether if he was putting in top performances week in week out against sides like Man Utd, Chelsea, spurs. That would put him in a bracket with keepers like Tim Krul. Comparing us to Wigan and Stoke shows the lack of knowledge this winnet-lipped twat has and isn't even worth discussing.
  14. Aye I get a similar reaction, it's odd that newspapers and people are discussing it the bloke is 26 and has played footy on grass for at least 20 year I reckon he'll be fine.
  15. bet he was canny gutted after falling.
  16. That's a stroke of luck like, my parents were in Spain when they won the '08 European championship said it was mental. It's bad enough when there's a daft sod with only 1 pad never mind not having one at all.
  17. Nightmare. Least you got a canny story mind!
  18. In jeans! bet you were lifting after that.
  19. Aye running a 5k isn't ideal on a match day like, would have been a shitter if yous had missed it. He paid something along them lines aye, went round south of France, Italy and that kipping in hostels sounded great tbh.
  20. Good read that Tom cheers. Like the bit about your lot legging it round Milan Aye mad as a box of frogs isn't he, probably be a bit calmer over there being more settled and close to family less of a young lad living away from home feel for him, time will tell I guess. Yeah a mate did the eurorail thing over the summer and highly recommended Venice. Don't think the season will have started while I'm there mind which is a shame maybe a preseason game or something, I'd like to get in a stadium tour at the very least.
  21. Aye he was a joker at City but like you say cant blame the lad and that Mancini didn't seem to be very strict. I've heard stuff about him rocking up to Inter training with AC socks on like but who knows really. Class must've been canny being there for that. Never got to Milan like I'm going to Venice in August so I might take a train to Milan to have a look about.
  22. Aye he did, probably helps that he gives a shit about AC I guess. He'd really looked like he'd stopped caring what happened at Man City this season.
  23. Aye looked like the lad sliding in got the ball, very soft penalty. Well taken by Balotelli mind.
