Brenda's Brussels Sprout Farts vs. Eddie and Gemmill's Christmas Crackers

Me and BD walking into the boozer to watch us kick Arsenal up and down the pitch -
The first replies I saw. Unreal the way the media narrative has warped simpletons like this. A bloke with an arsenal player in his avatar saying this! Despite the fact Arsenal have outspent us by a fucking mile over the same time frame despite having a much more advanced start point. In fact it’s full of Arsenal fans saying Howe has spent loads what fucking planet are these people on? I look forward to seeing what a Howe team looks and plays like when he’s spent what Arteta has…

“Wha’s the matter Patrick t’love?” “ooooo am in a right state, I remembered we were playing those ruff Newcastle guys and had a reeeeyt scary dream. I was at the most artisanal of fwoffy coffee shops in allllll of Yorkshire, and who walks in but none other than that big rough boy Joelinton and his bully of a friend Bwuno” ”ohhh t’no” ”haven’t heard the half of it yet. So anyway I ordered the frothiest of coffees, and I mean the fucking frothiest. It was a triple caramel pump double chai mocchaccino with a double frappe chocolate twist, and a whole can of their whippiest of creams. When it was made I told Tristan what an artiste he is, well anyways I turned around and they were just laughing at me and speaking all foreign, and as the big fella Joe went past me he knocked me right over and my fwoffy coffee just went all over the place. The bully Bruno grabbed my shoulder and finally I thought these bullies are being nice but he just told me ‘Fanks for the ball soft lad Miggy just tucked away the fifth’ and suddenly I was on the pitch and everyone was laughing at me” 5-0- 334 replies

Incredible manager. I fully admit I was not convinced when we initially got him, I really feared given the struggles he has previously had on the defensive side of the game that we would go down (although I thought he’d do well in the Championship). I’ve never been happier to be proven completely fucking wrong. The way he worked in his time away to improve and adapt his game, focusing on his weaknesses and turning them to a strength is absolutely incredible and full credit to him. He’s an example for other coaches on how to utilize time out of a job, but sadly the media thinks sinking 10 pints of Guinness a day in the diamond makes you worthy of PL jobs.

I can’t stand Arsenal. Hope we hammer the cunts. Fwiw I think Arteta is doing a good job but I hate the way the media frame it as a project in the same manner as what Howe is doing at NUFC. Howe and our owners are comprehensively reshaping the club, including the youth set up, facilities, mentality within the club, how the club is seen externally, revenue streams, fucking everything - in contrast Arteta is at a club with world class facilities, youth academy, a club that’s one of, and has been one of, the premier European sides over the last 30 years. In the last 27 seasons they’ve finished outside the top 6 twice, both under Arteta, and under Arteta they’ve spent somewhere in the region of £450m. Even if Arteta was to win the league, us finishing top 6 would eclipse that achievement tbh - of course media bias would mean Arteta was crowned manager of the year over Howe the same way as Klopp winning it over Howe last season was complete and utter nonsense. I personally don’t give a fuck about the media but I know that it will impact Howe in some way which is why it fucking does my box in. I don’t think I’ve ever seen media bias more plain than when we decimated them last season and a graphic popped in the top corner showing January spend with us at £80m and them at zero the intention was clear, despite the fact Arsenal spent near £150m that prior summer, we were the big spenders so what could little old Arsenal and their project do. I realize I’ve ignored Leeds btw, that’s intentional as I think we will run right through the soft cunts. I’ve thought it for a while but there’s certain teams in the league that I just now think won’t ever be a problem for us as they’re simply too small and lightweight, so even if we play poorly we will bully them for 90 minutes, and Leeds are definitely one of them. Bamford will be complaining to his mates on New Years Day about how rough those Newcastle boys were to him and the gang while he’s sipping his double caramel latte with extra fluffy cream on top. -
While this could of course be bollocks I really don’t think the new Chelsea ownership understand how FFP works, I can’t see any way that they’ve not completely overstepped it in the summer let alone the Nkuku transfer and the fact they’re seemingly still active. It’s also possible they do understand it and have some plan to take it to court when the inevitable punishment comes through.
-
Cucurella is a rancid player, fucking £60m for a back up left back whose only involvement is basically dribble the ball to the first defender, immediately turnaround and pass back or sideways, repeat for 90 minutes.
-
While obviously it won’t happen it’s mad that we are being used by clubs like Benfica to essentially tout their players.
-
-
I think it depends how perilous a position they feel they’re in relegation wise, they apparently are in some financial distress and iirc are already losing Tielemans in summer due to contract running out - this could be the last chance to properly cash in on Maddison since his deal runs out summer 2024 and he’s refusing a new one.
-
I think it’ll definitely be more targeted and focus on top level talent, such as bringing in Maddison. I wouldn’t be massively shocked to see us end with a spend just shy of £100m again though, if we went and signed Maddison, Thuram, and Sangare I could see it being in that range (given the contract situation of Thuram).
-
Since Ashworth come in there’s been a complete shut down in terms of transfer target leaks, so in terms of that it’s a bit thin on the ground. We bid for Maddison in the summer so the focus has been on whether that interest continues and results in another bid, we’ve also had supposed interest in wingers like Moussa Diaby, and Marcus Thuram, as well as DM’s like Alvarez, and I know we scouted Enzo Fernandez but the latter is highly unlikely given the World Cup.
-
Completely agree. I remember arguing with some people on here that Bruno should start and being told the balance of a Shelvey, Joelinton, Willock midfield was too important to disturb, the same could be said about the Schar and Burn pairing before we bought Botman. As you say it’s also about bringing up the mix/level, a player like Almiron who has done really well still remains an important member of the squad but then a Fraser or a Murphy has to go. If we went out and bought Maddison to come and replace Willock, who then drops to the bench, and then Sangare/Alvarez to replace Longstaff we’d have a CL level midfield playing in the Howe system that has seen players massively playing above their level. This is the first window where we finally have leverage imo, we’ve been going into windows scrapping with teams to force prices down with the threat of relegation looming or glaring weaknesses, now we have a team firing on all cylinders we can push for fairer prices and have the comfort of knowing we can wait people out (for example Maddison and Thuram contracts ending).
-
How class is this? Actually giving a shit that Arsenal are winning. Usually we’d be more concerned with West Ham but now we’re all fuming they’re too shite to do us a favour. It’s ok Mr wobble heads soft lad army run into the Sven and Joe brick wall January 3rd, confidence will be at an all time low for them after that.

Probably didn’t get a new one of his £600 cardigans for Xmas, and no one in the studio has asked him how he feels about it.

Isn’t Gabriel Jesus out for 3 months as well?

Title race is hotting up. I’m sure all the Sky punditry will be discussing the three way race that’s emerging

Another good game from Longstaff today btw. The ginger Marchisio is quietly having a good season, Howe’s coaching is incredible. Also really great of Leicester by allowing that lad Daka to play, I say that as I can only assume he won some type of Xmas competition in order to play a PL game. I say it every game now but what a fucking Rolls Royce of a player Sven Botman is. Genuinely haven’t seen us have a CB like him, Woodgate was absolutely brilliant but this bloke is only 22 and fucking built out of steel - incredible that our lot have found him and Bruno for a combined fee under what Harry Maguire cost. This isn’t highlighted in the press. -
What I love most about that post is his hatred of NUFC makes him so fucking deluded he calls a bloke who has 40 England caps which include a goal in a WC SF, a title win in Spain, and 40 European games (mostly CL) in his career “unremarkable at best”. Guarantee not a single one of them pulled him up on it neither.

Is ASM hurt? He’s been on the bench every game for ages, I honestly think he’s just not favored at this point. Maybe I’m wrong but it just seems that way as I don’t understand how he could be on the bench so consistently for this long otherwise. Personally I hope we are looking to replace Wilson sooner rather than later, I like him as a player but we can’t depend on the bloke at all, like missing today through illness ffs it’s just always something. -

This is insane like, we can say Leicester looked poor but every team basically looks poor against us so it’s clear it’s more us than them. If Arsenal drop points today and we beat Arsenal in the upcoming game…. -
Tim Howard having to praise us through gritted teeth, and after Everton lost due to a late goal at home to Wolves. This is fucking magic.
