So he's come in so they can both hate him instead . "Trusted drinking buddy" glad mike bases such important decisions on who he likes to have a few pints with.
-
Aye it's very odd, we were poor last season but it'd be fair to say we were being run in a stable way. If we struggled that much when stable why rock the boat like this and risk doing even worse? unless he honestly believes that Kinnear is the man to guide the footballing future of the club, it's either that or he just wants to piss everyone off, worryingly I'm not sure which worries me more . In all honesty it just baffles me, he looks to Arsenal for an example of how he wants to run but then after a rough year he's scrapped it.

Seems to be Ashley's way, he weathers the storm to implement something and when the fans finally begin to accept it (like we did this time as the scouting system was bringing in talent and even though we worry about losing players we could feel comfortable with Carr and co.) then he decides to go and change everything. He did this with Allardyce in all iirc, fans had finally began to just accept he was the manager and we just had to get on with it after uproar for a while then he sacked him.

Safer to assume Tom is being serious. I keep hearing he's a really nice bloke, I just find it so unbelievable because he comes across as one of the biggest doilems I've ever heard in my life in interviews.
-
didn't know who Douglas was so he vetoed it. So he has zero trust in any of the scout team? Brilliant. What's the point in having Carr then? Honestly what the fuck was Ashley thinking with this one. We've got someone who should be sectioned on a power trip.
-
he was right mind, we really had no idea how nasty he could be resigning from a no doubt lucrative job so he could give joe kinnear complete power. We're fucked.
-
Who could he possibly get better than Douglas, on a free, for the reported under 50k wages. This bloke hasn't wasted time has he 2 phone calls making us the national laughing stock and now he's apparently turned away a quality player.
-
Good position in the league under him? He was a total fucking disaster, are the PR lot really trying to make up history with every lie that pours out of the wretches mouth. I keep hearing kinnear is a good bloke but I really fail to see how, he comes across as a right twat in every interview I've ever heard him give.
-
Honestly after hearing that he has to of just went mental and started making shit up about us, he's fucking insane. He's like a parody of himself, the club should release a statement soon it's fucking embarrassing.
-
Results from 1908 and 1928 made that list, fucking hell .
-
could honestly seeing this be true. "We now realize what an ill informed decision it was to appoint a man who doesn't know anyone's name and abuses people in press conferences as the person in charge of the direction of the club." On the plus side there's absolutely zero chance of getting Charles insomnia back now.
-
the more you think about it the worse and worse it gets. The gift that keeps on giving. Honestly man it takes one interview to know he's a complete football dinosaur, just looking to have another mate for their nights in aspers.
-
If he gets more than a pack of space raiders a week it's far too much. Can we not take the money that is being sunk into this 3 year waste an add it to the transfer fund or player wage budget, seriously we could no doubt pay a good set of youth player wages with what we'll be paying this ball sack. Really can't understand how he can be any help with transfers the man has barely been involved with footy for years, and even when he was he's not exactly known for bring able to spot talent. As for the overseeing playing style I can't wait to see what we come up with for next year with that tactical master mind guiding us.
-
What a shambles man, the bloke is completely clueless so I cannot see any possible benefit to appointing him DoF. Weren't there stories about him kicking his feet up, with a cuppa watching TV while the coaches did all the training when he was manager here? Seems like he's just giving his mate a job tbh, or feels bad for the bloke. Can't really see how this is motivated by wanting to improve the football side of things, as like others have said Kinnear has clearly shown he's got little to nowt to offer on that front.
-
fucking hell. A great away day that no one living was at. I remember when we beat them 5-1 and after I mentioned it 2 days later to a mackem he replied "you're still fucking going on about that!" A week later he said it wasn't that embarrassing as they beat us 9-1 once . Think that game was before subs and the offside rule, and I was heard Newcastle ended the game with about 8 players as they got kicked off the park.
-
Would be class if we pulled it off, he's on a free isn't he? The article mentions 1.7m a year is the wage we're offering, which fits our wage cap.
-
Aye what a list of shitters. Agree about Bostock they thought he had tonnes of potential when Spurs took him.

Agreed. Just wish he'd shut up tbh the "ill let my agents" bit isn't really needed, whether he means owt by it or not he should be wise enough to know journalists will twist things. -
He's class like but I'm not convinced we'd go and spend £10m on a youth prospect albeit a very good one. I really hope it's a team like us that gets him mind and we don't see him go to one of the top sides and rot in their reserves.
-
Fucking hell that's absolutely lifting, most years I don't think they're much good but then they grow on me I don't think that will happen this year. It's a complete mess tbh the collar and back are particular lowpoints, and the blue pinstripes down the black stripes.
-
The return of the Tinkerman to the big time, odd that he's found himself in a similar position to when he was at Chelsea. Shame that Ligue 1 is now as noncompetitive as most the other leagues as like MT says it was one of the most competitive ones.
-
This, £15m in for Cisse and then £15m for Carroll in would be an utter nightmare. Cisse barely misses a game whereas Carroll is injured more often then not (he's currently injured now isn't he?), we'd also still need two more strikers and would have downgraded the one striker we have.
-
I think the safest bet is that he just wants a bit tache on.
-
Spot on, the bloke has made it abundantly clear he's not going to fund spending sprees pretty sure HF has us as making a fairly decent profit on transfers since he got here. Really don't get why some are still shocked when he doesn't spunk cash.
-
Aye he had a canny few shares of that Blacks sponsor they have on there in all iirc.
