I also just saw that we’d played 6 of the 7 teams at the top of the table away from home so far this season, which means a hiding at SJP is in their future I can see us getting more and more in that lots heads in the coming season, we’ve got their number tbh.

Hard to compete when you have to integrate your new £50m forward with your other £50m forward from last January, when all you have as back up to them is another £50m forward, just in case either of your two other £40m forwards get hurt or fall out of form, and that’s of course if your £80m forward from the recent summer window gets hurt. They were screaming on that he should be sacked just a few weeks ago. It’s why they’re such a nasty fan base towards managers, their delusion and expectation is mental so where other fan bases will be hoping to hold on to play offs, they are starting to expect it and when a poor run comes they will turn on the players and manager. Of course they act like all this is nonsense but it’s been exactly what they have done for as long as I can remember.

Chris Wood is a joke btw . One of those rare games where the opposition worked extremely hard to match our intensity and physicality, reminded me a little of the loss to Everton. I don’t know who the fuck that ref was but felt embarrassed for him, one of the worst refereeing displays I’ve seen - not that I thought he got a ton of big calls wrong he just didn’t bother making any. He’d blow for some soft fall, but then allow them to kick seven lumps out of Bruno, weird ref. The rain didn’t help as it nullified our out ball to Almiron. Shame to draw but games like this happen, roll on the game against Arsenal. Hopefully we do invest as we are screaming for some quality in CM and attack.

One of the best bits of that comment, aside from the similarity to their Wearside brothers, is it further shows the fucking delusion the Everton fan base has. The implication he’s making is that Eddie Howe is the only difference between the two clubs, which entirely misses the phenomenal job our owners have done - the two clubs are now fucking miles apart, Howe didn’t select these players our recruitment team did, while the turnaround has been at break neck speed it’s not by fluke. It also completely ignores how transformative Howe’s time away from management was to his coaching ability, again though the Everton fan shows similarity to the mackems that his football knowledge is basically if we had him we’d be class regardless of when they got him, the surrounding circumstances, etc. If Howe had went there he’d have been booed, the same way they boo and blame everyone as they have some delusion they’ve been a notable and competitive team over the Premier League era, but they haven’t they’re just a middling PL side along with Villa.

Agreed, worst fan base going iyam. I’ve met a bunch and Arsenal fan TV isn’t a bad representation of them, absolutely deluded, entitled bellends with very media led shallow views on other teams and players.

This lot must live in a world without squad sizes and FFP limits.

Personally I’d be thoroughly disappointed if he was to get a new deal. I’m hoping we bring in a CM or two, unregister Shelvey to ensure we won’t trigger that stupid clause. We’ve got to where we have this season largely without him, if we invest as I hope this window he already shouldn’t be a starter then further improvement in summer should make him completely redundant.
