Agree with all of that, including the feeling of considering giving up. Being shit is one thing, but not trying to improve is just a joke. Someone mentioned earlier when people were talking about motivation of the players and 'surely they read the paper' etc, but like you say they don't "get it" and I don't think they do read the papers, or watch the news, it's hard to shut that stuff out for British lads but for foreigners it's a lot easier. I mean Dummett will be getting earfuls from his mates and family, meanwhile the foreign lads will have moved on.

Spot on, I was saying to someone the other day it's been quite a while since we comfortably beat someone most games I remember recently it's been backs to the wall for the last 10 minutes or so to hold onto the 1 goal lead. We also get ripped to bits relatively often, it's almost nailed on that one of the next 3 games (City, Chelsea, Spurs) will be a 4-0 loss. It shouldn't be that way, Man City haven't had great away form this season but no doubt they'll give us a right good kicking as our lot will yet again look like they just turned up for the game from a pub lock in.

I agree that he was given them, it's just worrying that a manager can't motivate a group of guys that were humiliated 3-0 by this lot last time. Agreed on the last point as well, we're really in shitty shape with the run of games we have coming up we could well be in or around the relegation spots in 3 weeks.

Well at least we'd show ambition to get back up to the premiership under big fat Mike if we went down again, would be a great deal more entertaining than the utter shit we're being served up now where our ambition amounts to trying to survive in the Premiership using the lowest possible amount of resources. Fletcher was climbing all over Dummett for the first in all. Probert gave in to the home fans today, thoroughly depressing that we have to look to things like this shows how poor we were. Like I've said we didn't deserve any points from that but they got some big gifts from the ref, especially the Fletcher one he bottled that for sure.

Good post there Fish, it is worrying that we're a 45 min team tbh. I've no idea what is wrong as we have good players on the books but they never really turn up together, some do one game but then don't bother the next. It's just tough watching other teams players work hard every game, even when they get completely outclassed they still work hard and don't roll over, whereas our team tend to just roll over and take a drumming and when we are against a lesser side we never effectively step up and control the game. Pardew really needs to sort himself out as it's all embarrassing, he's what worries me the most tbh as players like Sissoko and Cisse looked incredible when they first come yet now look very poor (cisse especially). I mean watching Sissoko today I'd never believe you that he burnt Ashley Cole for pace and put two past Chelsea.

Agreed, they were all just looking to shoot from range as soon as they got the ball. Seemed pre-occupied with working the ball into more open shots for players like Cabaye which worries me as it seems like a tactic by Pardew. Long rangers no matter how well worked are always going to be tough, we should have been good enough to work the ball into the box against a really shit side. So the last two derby losses give us another tactic Pardew has no counter for, he was yet again clueless on how to set his team up effectively against a 4-4-2 high pressing side sickening when many believe that formation has become ineffective that we're now 5-1 against it in 2 games. Do the players not listen to Pardew? or is he just completely inept at getting players up for a game like this? as there was literally no reaction at the kick offs of the first and 2nd half.

Yup, got a feeling this is the way Derbies will be under this bloke. Much like how in the past the mackems would lose/scrape a draw regardless of the form of both teams, we're now the 'bottlers' in this derby thanks to Pardew. Shambles when our best chances really all came from shots from distance, we rarely tried to work it in the box just kept drilling it from 25+ yards. Defending was a joke, they made truly shit players like Altidore look somewhat useful, says it all when we're the only side seemingly that Borini can score against. Furious.

They want to pack that shite corner routine in as well, with them all standing in a line. Mackems just bumped them all when they started their runs which meant none of them got into the channels and yet another corner was completely ineffective. Starting to think we should just treat corners like throw ins from now on as Pardew has no clue what to do with them.

I thought the same thing about Sissoko, he's been completely anonymous. Really embarrassing performance so far today, no real chances against the worst team in the league is a disgrace. Our passing has been absolutely laughable, players passing straight to mackem players that are 3 yards away. I'm really annoyed that they are putting 3 men on Ben Arfa yet we don't seem to take advantage of any gaps that level of coverage should give us. Should have been fired up for this one but they come out like it was an early training session and they'd all had a heavy night on the drink, disgraceful.
