I prefer when he's with Debuchy as like you say it lets him cut inside with Debuchy keeping the fullback wide, I still think his best position is deeper in the middle though as his powerful runs have a better chance of starting from deep where there's more space, as often he's just being crowded out higher up the field. We have a lot of industry in the side but sadly very little creativity and I think that's really evident on the wings, Sissoko and Gouffran are hard workers (I like both players btw) but they're both missing that final bit of skill to really unlock the door (as Souness used to say).

Aye he's got them playing some ok footy really, not that it's hard to play more attractive football than a Tony Pulis side. Players like Adam, N'Zonzi and arnaurtovic can play some canny footy tbh, I'm not saying they're anything special because they're still a canny shit team. They can still be a right bunch of dirty bastards mind, as in the game against us, and while I think their game yesterday was a bit of an anomaly as they never look that good, they still pass it around quite well at times. I'd put Hughes down as just an average premier league manager tbh, canny at Blackburn, Fulham and stoke so far, out of his depth a bit at Man City due to their high ambition and QPR is a bit mental anyway but he was poor there.

Aye it looked canny empty by the end like, can't say I blame them too much mind getting hammered at home by Stoke would hurt. Stoke played very well mind, saw a stat at the start of the game that Stoke have already made more passes this season than they have in any of the last 5 full seasons.

Agreed, he was perfectly entitled to give it a go, he battled and won the ball saw the keeper off his line and put a bit of swerve on it to fool the keeper, it was mint. I know it's seemingly trendy for people to give Rooney a tough time but he's a fucking cracking player, 3rd top scorer in Man Utd history now and only 37 goals behind Charlton so he's almost nailed on to become their top scorer one day. His work rate is excellent and he's got a good range of passing, I don't see him as a greedy player tbh I think that's something you can level better at RVP but at the end of the day you want your strikers to be a bit selfish.
